So i once and for all have decided to cut down to about +-15% bf just to have a clean base to lock in a lean bulk and start packing on size. My plan was to do a quick defecit, like a semi agressive cut.

For refrence im 18yo 180cm and before the cut i was about +-75kg,i was planning on doing a 600-800kcal defecit starting with 600( so about 2000kcal and 150g protein per day). My goal for gym was doing 20min cardio almost everyday and track all my lifts( like allways)but just to maintain my strength to not loose muscle etc.

For the first 2 weeks it was acually easy, the not eating part was the best and easiest i wighed all my food and tracked it all and it was nothing hard. The only problem with it was the gym, i got like 0 pumps and wasnt the strongest, but after starting to take a bit of salt,2 bananas and 2ricecakes and 400mg cafein 30 min before workout it was alright.

Today was my first real struggle in gym, regarding my strength not my diet. Usually i benched like 72.5kg-5,4,3 times and maintainted that for like3-4 push days but now i could only get it 3,2 times, maybe cuz i was a bit tired becauase i was swimming before on the beach but i countinued to do my workout as best as possible.

In short my goal for this post was just to update my progress and ask for some tips regarding this whole situation. I will show some progress pics regarding the cut.

PS- I cant wait for the bulk to start enjoying the gym again...(first pic was july 2.)

Keep in mind i was fasted asf in the seccond photo so its pretty much 50% of the progress look over there but i can see the progress in general. a lot more striations on my delts etc.

How long have you been going to the gym for?

You'll probably hear this a lot, but genuinely, just workout hard first, you're really young in the grand scheme, and musculature will be incredibly easy to achieve without even doing much of a diet.

Obviously you want to be eating "well" but you don't want to be stunting your bodies ability to build, given that you're 18 and you still have a few years left yet. Your body will need as much fuel as it can get for metabolic growth. Take that away by cutting and you're actually preventing yourself from growing.

I stupidly did this when I was 17, aggressive dieting etc, without knowing that I was actually stunting my bodies ability to gain as much muscle as possible.

Cutting is not advised for teenagers because they need atleast maintenance calories to keep "building" their body till 20-21. By cutting, you're just hindering progress. This is science unfortunately, coming from a guy who probably should have been atleast 6ft 😂.

Not sure where to start so bare with me.

Semi aggressive cut? Why? Whats the rush? That'll be the reason youre losing strength. You're in a 6-800 deficit before you've calculated cardio, you aren't recovering and not eating enough protein at those cals and as you can tell, your performance is suffering. You should be maintaining your strength, your reps and your weight in your deficit, it is possible when dieting sensibly but a great loss of strength only a few weeks in is a great indicator youre not fueling your body enough. Up the cals, cycle them, slightly higher on training day, slightly lower on an NTD. Run a 2-300 cal deficit and up your cardio 20-40 mins per day.

Youve asked for tips but im not sure what youre after. Tips for what to do now? What to do next? How to diet a little bit better? Youve said youre dieting for a maximum of 4 more weeks? Yoyoing the diet and to a bulk then back to a diet is just an easy way to not progress because youre not spending long enough in a surplus to grow and not really long enough in a diet to lose enough fat to make a difference.

u have a point, i just want to stick to this cut enought to atleast drop a bit more fat then just stay at maintainance for a week then ease into the leanbulk but for now i have been dieting for ab out 20 days so i dont see the problem in 4 more weeks and then stay on a bulk. How long do you think is enough? and protein wise isnt 150g enough? And im rushing this cut becuase id rather get this over with asap so i can return to lean bulking...

Maintaining for a week is almost pointless. When you finish your diet, however long you have your head set on that, add in a couple hundred cals extra each week. Might take you 2-3 weeks to get to maintenance and then ease a couple hundred over for a month, track your bodyweight consistently and add in an extra 1-200 if your bodyweight stalls over a week. Your surplus will continue to build muscle whilst staying as lean as possible. Small increments and doing it over a longer period of time say 20+ weeks is much better than cramming a f load of food for 12 weeks, putting your digestion all over the place and getting fat and losing insulin sensitivity.

IMO 150 is nowhere near enough despite your BW being 70kg. At 2k cals, ive hit 250g+ with whey, chicken breast, white fish and lower carbs. Just got to suck it up and have lower carbs whilst your on a diet.

Rush the cut and the results are rushed, not as good, you've lost muscle, you've lost strength and actually in a worse position than when you started even if you are a bit leaner. Whats the rush? Be patient, be consistent and remember what your goals are. Enjoy the journey, enjoy the process.

You have been going to bulking and cutting and gaining 3 kilos and losing kilos for like over a year now, if you'd have just stuck to something and committed to it you would be much further along. You seem to change your mind too often to make any real progress which should be easy to come by at your age and experience level.

You're lean enough bro, at 165lbs at your height you just don't have the muscle there to cut down to. I'd say just send it.
Do a proper bulk for like a year, don't threat about gaining some fluff just pack on the pounds.

You're at the age of your peak natural testosterone levels, still in the threshold of natural nooby gains. Use it to your advantage and get as big and strong as you possibly can. Then when it's finally time to cut, you'll have a much bigger frame to cut down to.

You're at the age of your peak natural testosterone levels,
Saddly im not, considering i do eat clean, sleep atleast8 hours mostly 9 and train with no excuses consistently with no drug addiction or anything to stunt my natural T its still at 520.

And i completely agree with u but i have been cutting for like almost 3 weeks i would be prooving all of you right if i just started bulking, i have my goal SET im going to cut for another 4 weeks and then lean bulk for eternity.

You look a lot better in the second photo! I just don't get how you put on all the extra weight and then have diet it off. You are not consuming McDonald's and stuff like that are you? Get back to the gym with your Upper/Lower split (4 days a week). Train correctly going to failure on the last set of each exercise. Go swimming on your gym days off for cardio.... Progress a Lean Bulk, then you are not dieting every few months. Read up on it and progress the Lean Bulk correctly. It is no more than 300 calories above your maintenance. Healthy food too!! Make sure you get plenty of Protein, at least 1.8g per Kg of bodyweight. Stay hydrated, muscles like hydration not dehydration! Stop bothering over your testosterone level, it is not at it's maximum yet, that will be upwards of 21 years old. With the Lean Bulk, you keep training with no need to diet, so you should grow with the constant training... I have never had to diet, just trained and my waist was less than 30" ten years older than you are now. Get down that gym and train consistently and for a long time, no stopping either! Make sure you get your sleep too!

Sorry for the delay in answering!
