Bensif 1892 Posted November 22, 2020 How to not get fat? Basically don’t eat too much. 2-3lbs gain maximum, per month, after water weight etc is a good rate of gain. 10 months later you’re 30lbs up, 10lbs is muscle if you’re lucky, 20lbs to diet off which is 6-8 weeks work. 5 Juicy Goosey, monkeybiker, swole troll and 2 others reacted to this
feelinfine 275 Posted November 22, 2020 I cut out carbs and eat more protein and fat on cycle. Weight climbs slower but I look better in the mirror. In the end what is more important? The number on the scale or how you look in the mirror?
drwae 2135 Posted November 22, 2020 Don’t overeat. I always used to put on 20kg on a 12 week bulk and got fat

I think you'll find cutting out carbs is possibly going a bit far the opposite way from an "extreme bulk" mate 3 Tricky, swole troll and Juicy Goosey reacted to this

Upthedose 36 Posted November 22, 2020 Maintence calories + 300-500 is ideal imo. Never again will I bulk on any more than that.

Without carbs on cycle you ain't growing. Not muscle tissue anyway. 1 Tricky reacted to this
Hawker90j 23 Posted November 23, 2020 Why would cutting out carbs make you stay lean? Eating the same amount of calories in protein and fats as you would with carbs would cause you to gain the same amount of fat. Assuming you are over your maintenance. Stop spreading nonsense
Tricky 2964 Posted November 23, 2020 Honestly I think people make this rubbish up and convince themselves what they are doing is some secret formula to help build muscle. It’s simple eat slightly above surplus with enough protein to sustain growth and recovery with sleep, water and steroids. Cutting out carbs when bulking is well plain stupid. If anything bulking and on gear you can reduce protein slightly in place for using those kcals from carbs OP if your already ‘shredded’ you must know what your talking about by now anyway? PaulNe 185 Posted November 23, 2020 Carbs are your energy source why on earth would you cut them out especially on a bulk? Too many excess calories make you fat not carbs. Can't believe you're on a cycle when you don't know basic nutrition 1 Chicken_Boy reacted to this

That comes from carbs I'm sure? @Bensif mentioned it in another thread a few weeks back when someone mentioned keto when bulking. 1 PaulNe reacted to this

Keto is just bollocks to me although some people apparently get appetite suppression benefits from it when cutting but to use it for bulking is ridiculous lol

gwswag 7 Posted November 23, 2020 "Shredded" is quite a claim. I'm willing to bet that in this instance, "shredded" means: vague outline of abs if standing at the appropriate angle in the excellent downlight of the bathroom mirror.

Exactly - this is why you feel and look ‘flat’ when on a low carb diet. Not only do you need carbs to grow they also make you look much fuller. 1 MrBrightside reacted to this

Chicken_Boy 347 Posted November 23, 2020 You need SOME carbs. Even if it's just 80 - 100g a day. Carbs = fuller look, more energy, better workouts, less grouchy.
