Pubs, Restaurants and Gyms closing in Liverpool by the looks of things

s**t noooo, assume other areas might follow suit. Thought it was just pubs and restaurants?

That add for £200 worth of plates that keeps popping up is looking more tempting.

Yeah just been looking. Says whole of Yorkshire is in the top tier, so not sure if that means gyms are shutting here as well.

I'm in South Yorkshire. Glad I kept all my home equipment. Urgh...

Just read somewhere else, only Liverpool is going into tier 3 and leisure facilities are expected to stay open, which I'd assume covers gyms?

Yeah, I knew it was Liverpool only for now, but it seems likely other locations will be added in the coming weeks.

Hopefully gyms stay open like in Scotland, but classes aren't available.

It's going to be absolutely devastating for the hospitality sector if pubs and restaurants close for any period of time again.

I know of a couple of people that didn't isolate after returning from abroad. Warnings and low fines don't work as people know there is tiny chance of getting caught and only small fine if they are.
Why don't government change law, so that if your caught you are fined 50% percent of the value of everything you own. Also run adverts on TV that if you shop someone in to authorites and they are caught you get a percentage of the money.

Sod GDPR we are leaving EU, setup website with names of people that should be isolating/quarantine everyone can then look through for names they know.

Guarantee within a couple of days there would be hardly anyone breaking quarantine or isolation.

Similar for people that caught not wearing masks why give them tiny fine, just change their tax code for the rest of their life so they pay double tax.

Nice idea, however I hope people who do this never need their neighbours help after they've shopped them.

For example, you get locked out, , you have a fire and need somewhere to stay the night, or your car won't start and need a push up the road....

Anyone else nervous about if gyms get mentioned

This time around- Yes

Didn't bother me last time, had some stuff to tick over with at home and enjoyed cardio and other parts of fitness I have neglected but since returning I have got  way back into it all again.

Hope it doesn't happen but won't be the end of the world for me.

Danny

Gyms have been mentioned a few times, but the latest is that it'll be boozers, travel and visiting people's homes that will be restricted.

I got myself a decent bench and weights a few weeks back, my body is prepared. However my wallet/mortgage won't be if we go into Lockdown again. Yes, I worked all through it last time, but we have been extremely quiet, and I wouldn't write off redundancy. Having said that, I'm in the South West, so things may not change just yet.

Can not believe this again. I've got my stuff arriving next month.

Manager at my gym did not sound worried on sat. Impression I got was it's the city centres that are being affected. I cant see how that would affect things outside of the city, ie bars, restaurants and gyms.

What will be will be.

Gyms have been specifically mentioned along with bars, restaurants and casino's.

They WILL be closing in 'tier 3' marked areas.

Expect this kind of open and close type approach for a long time as it's merely pumping of the brakes of something that will eventually end up where it wants to go.

Infection rates drop with everywhere closed, they slowly lift restrictions, ROI goes up, they close again, numbers drop and repeat.

Even those against the vaccine will be so badly beaten into submission by the constant closure of their business either for trade or leisure that by the time a vaccine comes round they will be begging for it.

Belt up because this will be a long ride.

So basically it just makes people to travel out of tier 3 zones lol. In fact that’s what I will do I’ll just travel to my home town from time to time there’s a killer gym there

I think Swole forgot to mention travel restrictions, which will also be implemented. Not sure how they plan to enforce them, mind you. But I do know in Sheffield they had road blocks on some major routes during Lockdown Part 1.
