What's up with manlets bringing their girlfriends to gym?

Recommended Posts

Alright. Is this like a fad or something?

At my gym I see lots of soyboys bringing their girlfriends. It's a rather expensive gym, £170 a month, so those guys are your typical beta bucks with girls normally out of their league. They usually run around their girlfriends assisting with their "workout" while them broads are busy ogling a handful of guys that actually are in shape. Today there was a whole buss load of them and I was completely surrounded by them smiling she-wolves. Is it the same at your gym as well?

Strangely, I raised this subject today with some gay friends of mine to see what their thoughts were on a heterosexual male bringing his g/friend to the gym.

Some guy in the gym (Anytime fitness) yesterday had his girlfriend helping him with forced reps on.... tricep cable push downs. Yuk!!  He wasn’t a massive roider but your typical 27 yr old dressed in the usual insta-garms.

Probably orders from muscle food and eats muscle mousse. His missus was filming him as well.

What's the exercise where someone stands under the cable tricep cage, grabs a handle with each hand and performs bent arm front raises but with supinated (palms up) grip? Supinated cable front raise with one foot in front of the other I’m going to guess.

1st rule of alpha lifting....... feet side by side not a tandem stance.

Fairly negative topic mate to say you're boasting about attending an expensive gym like you're living the dream, like a full blown narcissist. It's not a big deal but you're trying to be a big cheese in a place full of other people trying to be the same thing, but apparently you're doing things right, correct? And they are not being proper humans, but you are, right? Welcome to the rat race buddy where people will resort to anything to think they are sent from above to live a superior life to everybody else. Funny I say that, can't you see the irony?

It kinda takes away your point. I think the reason is because you are paying a lot of money to go to a gym that not very many people can afford to go to. So that means that the people you are probably around will be middle/higher-middle or upper class folk, or stupid irresponsible poor people who spend their hard earned wages on trying to be socially superior, who to you seem strange and alien but to their own brethren are just like normal people like you and I. So it's either you accept the fact that you're not going to get average run-of-the-mill people attending a £170 per month gym, or you find somewhere that is more up your street. Either way I'm guessing because you boasted about being in such an expensive gym it's not something that is bread and butter for you and you're doing it to look cool and rich so if that is the case this should be a wake-up call for you to see how many other people go about living out their lifestyle choices who are not cut from the same cloth as you. If you don't like it why are you trying so hard to fit in and spending £170 per month when it's going to be obvious that the demographic you will get there will be different to what you will find at much cheaper gyms?

If anything it's you who is the weird one because you're talking like you're not the same as these people yet you're trying so hard to prove that you are able to live such a lavish lifestyle and be as cool as them. Doesn't add up to me. I'd drop the act and come down a few pegs and be around your own kind of people. Or I'd suck it up and accept this is how life is for many people who genuinely do the live the life you're trying so hard to replicate, at least that seems to be the case when you're all in the gym together.

A few young lads bring their birds to my gym. I don’t really get it either to be fair. I take my lad, but he’s an alpha in the making. To be fair I’ve noticed two other blokes bringing their lads in since I did. Good on em.

170 a month? that's just fu**ing ridiculous .. the best kitted out specialist strongman gyms dont even cost half that

oh, and my missus occasionally comes with me, whats the big deal? she's into actual lifting not just cardio and hip machines, it's quality time together away from the kids, I get a natural test boost everytime I put her in a compromising position and it boosts her sex drive for a couple of days everytime we do train together ..

just yesterday I had her doing stiff leg deficit deadlifts, got a great view haha

I've noticed this more now after lockdown, it really irritates me especially seeing lads who clearly have no clue how to train someone and let their girl dead with a back like a pissed off cat. Schmucks!! I've gone to the gym several times with the mrs but would never train with her as we have different goals.

fu**ing hell. For £170 quid I'd expect the PT to do the exercise for me whilst the receptionist performs genital health checks.

If there's no complementary nosh off and free beer after training, they wouldn't get more than 20 quid from me.
