Boris just announced the next ease of lockdown (july 4th) and he stated gyms will remain closed! fu**ing bull s**t, why leave these last, they should be open way before other bollox
It is complete insanity that a pub will reopen before a gym, like what is the thinking, something that benefits mind and body remains shut yet you can go and get pissed up, same for McDonald's.
The last thing a Government want is 1 Million BodyBuilders Rioting and Protesting... BB'ers are too strong - Government are SCARED!! .. so they keep them closed - we widdle away to bone and then they come and take us away for experiments.
Ask @wylde99 for confirmation.. hes seen the ACTUAL Documents (a Meme)

I think it's a poor decision. Letting unhealthy people gather in pubs to get pissed but not letting healthier people around each other in an environment made to become fitter (thus healthier and stronger).
I dont understand the logic behind it other than from an economical perspective. But gyms are businesses also.. so beats me.

Yeah there getting pissed so there going to be unrresponsible not washing there touching things. Do they think drunk people will wear masks and wash there hands
Mine is still on track for opening on the 16th of next month, regardless of what that half wit sturgeon says, they just wont advertise it on facebook etc..
What a stupid decision, opening the gyms later in the year, just in time for flu season....
I cant wait to see a spike in covid at that time, which will be nothing but the flu but of course that's not as scary so the media will label it all covid.

Spoke to the owner of my gym who is in contact with all the other local gym owners and managers. He's been told the council gyms are gearing up for re-opening on the 15th, that's a wednesday which seems like a weird day to open but none of what's going on really makes much sense so who knows
As irritating as it is from an economy perspective whilst not showing a complete disregard to public safety the pubs are a far more financially obvious choice than gyms in a slow easing of restriction.
Now I personally believe based off the data of other coronavirus and the stats for this one that the vast public safety was never of great concern but the government spent months conditioning everyone with scare mongering and many are still convinced you have a death wish to go out in public at the moment and therefore this is a sectional easing of lockdown without downplaying all that fear they whipped up whilst using gyms as the expendable business rather than the cash cow that is pubs (particularly during summer time after months of being locked up).
Herd immunity was always the goal whilst minimizing the strain on the NHS and getting the economy back on its feet asap.
If you think this is a health thing then just look at the order of reopening

Fact is it is hard to clean gym equipment and people cannot be trusted to clean it after use, you have seen how people have been breaking the rules, closed environments with heaving breathing people is not a good environment. I think keeping them closed until a solution is found is correct.
You don't have to rely on someone else to clean it, just make sure you clean before you use it. There's absolutely no difference between outdoor gyms, park equipment, going shopping and touching a trolly/basket or food, your still touching a surface after someone else, all the gym layouts I have seen pictures of look completely safe to use.
