I am trying to purchase all the items required to do my first steroid home brew. My question is when searching for syringe filters does it make a difference  to the diameter size of the filter i,e 10ml, 13ml or 25ml ?

The larger the filter the easier it is to use.

How many ml of gear are you preparing ?

Thanks for responding.

As it's my first time I am just going to do 50ml of test. So would the 25 MM be good to use.

Also typo in OP meant to say MM not ML.

You want a .22 ptfe filter. These ones stand up to solvents the best. Will handle BA,BB, Ethyl Oleate. Make sure its sterile.

The larger diameter will allow faster filtration. If you get a small diameter filter it will be slow, if you try to force a faster flow rate, you can blow out the filter.

You want it to be sterile when you buy it.

One thing to consider is that the environment that you will be preparing your brew will not be completely sterile, only a fully equipped lab will be.

So all you can aim for is to have everything as hygienic as possible.

He'd have to be a complete idiot to admit that.

I care because 'brewing' steroids seems to be a trend these days much like how brewing beer was in the 1980s.  The only difference is, manufacturing injectable steroids is very dangerous and should not be carried out by the average Joe, and shouldn't be advocated on here.  For everyone's sake as well as his own.

Anyway, as you were.... 'Brains'.

Each to their own.

Trusting an UGL is not risk free.

If someone wishes to brew their own gear then whats the problem?

I used to brew my own exclusively. Gave me control of solvent amounts , carrier oils, concentrations. Also lets you make some exotic, ease of use blends that don't exist in UGLs.

Test, npp, mast.

Tren, primo.

Test PP, test dec.

That and its mega cheap by comparison.

PVDF is ok too from what I understand?

I am not sure , may not be suitable for ethyl oleoate,

Nylon is suitable for limited use .

I've looked at those filters on ebay. Would you trust the one that says sterialation by gamma radiation? I would of thought equipment like that would be expensive.

I've since seen some better known US brands on Amazon. Will probably go with them. Any particular membrane you recommend?

Nylon worked fine for me 0.22 micron go for a wide diameter 25mm or something. Use a big siringe like 20mm. Takes forever with say 3mm. Sterilise everything even vial rubber stoppers and vials.
