Feel like I’m being pricked all over when I warm up

Recommended Posts

A couple of years ago I used to get this weird sensation where when I got too warm I’d get a mild sense of almost like pins & needles all over but it hurt as opposed to that weird tingling feeling you get with P&N. I put it down to carrying a little excess weight and lost a stone which seemed to help.

the last couple of weeks it’s come back with a vengeance - I know when it’s about to come on so I at least get a few seconds notice but it’s really debilitating - I can’t maintain a conversation or focus on what I’m doing because I’m itching from head to toe like a loon. I’m booked in with my GP next week but thought I’d post up to see if anyone has had a similar experience

I don’t know, it could be. I’m at the dr’s tomorrow to see what they say.

i have been taking anti-histamines the last few days but then I’ve also had a fan on me most of the time too to help.

How much alcohol have you been consuming in recent days/weeks/last 12 months?

The symptom you describe can be a symptom of poor liver function.

Sorry if that sounds alarmist, it isnt meant to. Just adding it in so you can either rule it in or out.

Getting GP advice sounds sensible.

Hardly any. I don’t drink except for the odd night out (once every few months).

i have had Non-alcoholic fatty liver previously but got it under control. Would make some sense though if it was that making a re-emergence.

I had bloods done Friday so we’ll see what the cráic is next week.

cheers Mike

Just a quick follow up to this, I’ve been diagnosed with Cholinergic Urticaria and been given treatment of 180mg Fexofenadine 3 times a day.

...used to get this around 4-5 days into foreign sunny holidays (itching like f**k, with freaky water blisters too) - drove me crazy - regular sunbed  sessions a month out from flying along with fexofen daily the week before and during the holiday saved the day.
Aside to this, don’t know if it’s related or not, I go through phases of working out and either sweating buckets or just not at all!

Anyways - hope it works out for you.

Not sure why I didn't just bump this thread in the first place lol, ta
