Creating a home gym app

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I have an idea and was wanting some feedback on the idea. Thank you for taking the time to read my post.

My idea is a home gym app where you can input into the app all the equipment you have at your home gym and the app will suggest exercises you can do with the equipment you have.

Whilst looking for routines for myself, I tend to find exercises or workout plans that require equipment that I don't have and this could be a possible solution.

Thank you for reading and any feedback on what you think will be very useful. Let me know if you would if you would use the app and would like something like this to be part of your gym life.

I really can't see the need... if a routine says 'leg press' and I don't have one, just google 'leg press alternatives' and a list will come up.

Your app would need to design a complete workout routine that incorporated your inputted home gym equipment and not just 'exercises you can do with xxx' because again, google can do that ie 'barbell exercises' has 167M matches.

I actually think if you can make this work it would be quite a popular app .. purely on the fact there is a lot of lazy people out there who would rather have an app tell them what to do instead of performing several different google searches for exercise alternatives

That was my thinking. I’m all for researching exercises and spending lots of time doing it but the amount of times I found a good routine it was either for going to a commercial gym or it required equipment I didn’t have at my house. It would be a lot easier to have all you need in one place and being able to actually do the exercises

same way as all the others, sell your data and adds

He isn’t going to collect much data and add revenue is based on use time and demographic.

Ive run numerous software businesses. I see so many failed mobile apps these days and you’d be surprised the level of investment required to scale them if they do take off.

Who would buy a piece of equipment for their home gym without knowing what they would or could do with it?? Anyway, can't stop - I'm just off to train legs on my new lat machine.

I guess some may buy say a power rack for squats and bench press but not think about doing say Rack pulls or pin presses etc.

I did alsorts with mine including seated calf raises and also made attachments to allow me to do additional things with it.

Id go onto the bodybuilding exercise finder and put in the equipment I have and have hundreds come up for me.

And if that failed id use common sense.

Thank you for telling me about this, I wasn’t aware that they had this on their website but it doesn’t provide the user with a workout routine to follow, which I’ll be incorporating within my idea.
