Tuna Veggies

Why is it you lads do not eat your veggies???

Here's a quick meal that gets some veggies down your throat with your tuna!


2 large carrots grated, 1 c cauliflower and 1 c broccoli florets

2 5 oz can of tuna drained

1 TBS lemon juice

1/4 c plain yogert

1 tsp cayenne pepper

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

1 tsp black pepper

Thaw frozen vegetables as per package or steam fresh vegetables in 2 quart saucepan for 1 minute. Drain any excess water.

Add tuna, and the rest of the ingredients to sauce pan.

Mix thoroughly.

You don't like veggies??? :eek:

You can substitute cottage cheese for the yoguert.

The yoguert gives you some probiotics.

Both yoguert and cottage cheese are substitutes for mayo.

It really is nothing more than a tuna salad in a different presentation.

or a tuna pasta without the pasta and just added veggies.

To add more flavor, texture, good fats, and some protein you can add 1/4 cup peanuts.

The spices help spice up the veggies.

If you grill ( just until they are tender, don't over cook) those veggies with the spices and some garlic pods, onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers, 1TBS butter and 1/8 c water wrapped in aluminum foil, they taste very good.
