Keto can be saucey! (cheese)

Hi guys! I've always been a huge sucker for cheese sauce! Have it with Macaroni, Broccoli, cauliflower etc. Home made cheese sauce, or ready made cauliflower & cheese, Broccoli & cheese usually contains 15-20g + minimum carb content, although not a huge amount of carbs, sometimes this can be enough on top of daily totals to take you over the needed range for keto.

Ive been playing about today with 3-4 different variants of a cheese sauce with ingredients that are keto friendly, and have ended up with one with 5.9g of carbs and it tastes the best out of the several I made.

200ml Alpro soya light

50g cheddar cheese

1tbsp Philadelphia cheese (30g)

1 tsp Coleman mustard

1 tbsp raw coconut flour

2 tbsp butter

salt & pepper

per 200ml

530 cals

49g fat

14.2g protien

5.9g carbs

Instructions to make ; Follow a regular sauce recipe .

-Melt butter in a pan on low heat, add flour and stir continuously until a smooth paste.

- 1/4 of the milk and stir in continue to keep smooth consistency, continue with rest of milk

- mix in grated cheddar cheese, stir until melted, further add soft cheese and continually stir.

- After several minutes, add mustard, salt and pepper to taste and cook until thickened to your liking.

Enjoy! About to have turkey breast, cauliflower and this cheese sauce in a casserole dish topped with cheddar baked in the oven!
