I've read here and over at MD that the first timer class is to be scrapped?

What does that mean for people who are green horns?

Do they have to battle it out with people who have been competing a few years?

:confused1:

It makes sence on one hand but is a risky venture.

I know that I would not have started BBing when I did if I were to do novice class first. They might lose potential competitors to NABBA

what i have seen in recent times for first timers, dont know if this has always been the case, but there seem to be 3-4 guys who could eaily take the class, and then another 10 who are in a different league (i.e. not as developed), so on one hand it might be a good idea.

yes it will push the standards of classic bodybuilder higher but then people can move up the ranks when they gain muscle. thats certainly what i plan to do

first timers can be a mixed bag....

mr x who has been bodybuilding for years and decided to do a show for a laugh

mr y who has been training for 12-24 months

is the judges more relaxed on judging criteria on first timers than the novices?

for your first competition you are rarely going to be shredded and full?
