Just had HR asking me to take more holiday, as I have 22 working days of holiday left to use until the new year.

Fortunately I get paid for any excess ;D

Yesterday I was asked by HR how many days left I had at the end of the last leave year, as they thought it was low. They've not seen my leave slip in about 4 years... But if someone can explain to me why the Civil Service has such weird leave years, I'll die a happier man...

I take Xmas day, boxing day, NY eve, NY day and about 5 days through the year in an average year. This year I've had 2 days completely off, a few more not in shop but still working.

Self employment rocks tho, would rather work for me most of the time than do my pan in for someone else but get "leave".

Anyway - retiring at 50 and the rest of my life is a holiday...lol :) (only half joking!)
