Hi. Just wondering if someone could give me advice on whether this is safe to do? Put several UNCOOKED chicken breasts in freezer bags & put in freezer. A few days later, take 1 of the bags out & put it in the fridge to defrost overnight. Then the next day, put the uncooked chicken in the oven to cook. After it's cooked, put in fridge for the next day. The next day heat it in microwave to eat? Any advice would be appreciated. Don't want to get sick. Cheers
Perhaps I should that the riskiest part of that whole process is reheating the meal in the microwave - make sure the chicken gets properly hot , not just warm. The initial freezing step is totally risk free.
Same thing they do in the supermarkets when they sell you frozen chicken mate, it's just the fresh chicken breast that didn't get sold that day a lot of the time so it's still relatively fresh when they freeze it.
I do almost the same, except once it's defrosted in the fridge overnight, I cook it and eat it the next day, and put another one from the freezer into the fridge for the following day
It's likely fine, but I'm fussy when it comes to reheating meat, I`ll eat it cold the next day, but won't reheat it
Chicken should reach a minimum temperature of 75c to kill most of the bacteria that would make you sick
