HEY people.....

was thinking about adding some eggs to my shakes but a bit worried about the increased risk of Salmonella ..!!! :death:

Does this bother any off you ??

Should i use only the whites ? or full eggs ?

my recipe .

400ml semi-skimmed milk

2 scoops of whey ( 56g protein )

2 eggs

mixed frozen fruit

**** BLEND ****

What ya`s think ? :thumb:

I really did not know you could buy egg whites !! does it come in a bottle ? what the protein content per serving ?? thanks

yeah mate found that and will be sending the wife for some in morning .. says each carton contains 15 egg whites and 50 grams protein . been reading that the average sized egg contains around 8 grams protein so would defo be getting more protein from whole eggs than this stuff !!

Yeah there is more protein in a whole egg than just the egg white

1 large whole egg (50g) contains:

.. Dietary Fiber: 0g

1 large egg white (33g) contains:

Calories from Fat: 1

Total Fat: 0g

.. Saturated Fat: 0g

Cholesterol: 0mg

Sodium: 55mg

Total Carbs: 0g

.. Dietary Fiber: 0g

.. Sugar: 0g

Protein: 4g

1 large egg yolk (17g) contains:

Calories: 54

Calories from Fat: 41

Total Fat: 5g

.. Saturated Fat: 2g

Cholesterol: 210mg

Sodium: 8mg

Total Carbs: 1g

.. Dietary Fiber: 0g

.. Sugar: 0g

Protein: 3g

cheers for that ...

anyone recommend a nice tasting quality whey ?? I`ve got WWS raspberry at the moment and it is disgusting WWS WHEY is cheap and taste really really bad. yuk

the thing with doing this is that your body only uses about 40% max of the protein from the egg when uncooked....

and around 90% with cooked eggs so dont see why peaple do it lol...

if you wont more protein in your shakes put a bit more powder in lol it will also taste better than puting a load of raw eggs in lol...

and if your looking for a decent protein powder go to myprotein.com as they have a wide range and load of different flavour as well...

@ 1adf1 - Its not only the protein i`m want from the egg , they also full off other nutrients , did not realise that the amount of protein will be less when the egg is un-cooked.

will have a look on myprotein.com now thanks :)
