I do, I dont see how it can be possible, I want my future wife and Kids to have a nice house, nice things and a good life.

But I dont think thats possible in this country, I can barely afford to keep myself let alone 2-3 others.

I have a decent job, a fair amount of experiance, but im still getting shafted in all holes by the government and my employers.

One guy i knew at school is like that, him and his missus live on the benefit, and get her mother to basically pay for the kids clothes and food while they sit around all day smoking or at the pub.

I'm with you there fella. Just started a family myself in the last few years and we struggled to make ends meet. P****s me right off when i see these people with 3 kids, neither of them work and they live in a 3 bedroom house with brand new cars on the drive - all from our taxes. If i had the chance again, i would think about a different country, maybe Oz. :beer:

They need to pressure people to at least work and commute their part to society, even if its voluntary work to help the community, something thats at least benefitial. Instead of sitting on their A$$ all day, spending our hard earned money.

I'm partly being serious too, i'm sure theres like several million claiming benefits. And job seekers alone is several hundred million per fortnight :|

Im not sure how much he gets, all i know is he can afford 40 marlbrough lights a day, sky tv with sports and movies, wireless broadband, several pints of beer, food and new clothes, a ps3 and regular new games :lol:

agreed i think to get your benefits you should work for them! ther is an old saying theres no such thing as a free lunch but in this day and age it would seem that ther is and its all on me! (my taxes) i work i pay my ni stamp etc so that when im old im entitled to some thing allso to fund the NHS policeing and schools etc not lazy cnuts that dnt wana work! its diff if you take it when you need to and try your hardest to finde a job but the lazy cnuts that say why should i work when i can sit on my ass are cnuts!

OOOOH! get this i have two jobs and some guy who drinks in the bar i work at (is allso the treasurer of the club and has just resigned as we found him stealing from the club) was involved with islandic banking at some point b4 it all went tits up now he dnt work and hasnt for over a yr.... well over a yr, to be fair he dnt sign on eather his mrs works and gets better benifits if he dnt sign on she has 3 kids from b4 him and one with him (the other 3 16, 15, and 8 have all moved out to ther various dads as they cant stand him) his son is 15-16 months old he has no money comming in at all just looks after the kid. some one said to him the other day you get 15hrs a week free nursery time for the kid why not put him in one and get a job at BnQ as they are taking ppl on atm. now this is the bit that got me he said no its beneath me

LOL! wtf so being a ponce off ya mrs and not working having no money comming in and stealing from a club/bar isnt beneath him!? wtf! my thoughts are when you have a kid you scrub public shyt houses for a living if you have to nothing is benath you! you do what you can to put a roof over there heads and grub on ther plate! be a fuking roll modle not a lazy cnut!

Just think of how many jobs could be made or replaced with the benefits system.

If you claim job seekers allowance you must comply and participate in xx amount of hours voluntary work with the council (jobs which don't have a demand).

And after every interview with a job their advisor must find out why they weren't acceptable (and if it was the persons fault for being a tw*t or a c0ck, they have two chances, if they fail twice for them reasons they lose their benefits).

Obviously, we don't want several million homeless but why should we pay and feed several million who dont work...I'm sure the several million who are homeless would kill for a house, an oppurtunity to work again and reunite with society..

Ultimtatley, you have to support yourself and if you have dependants such as a child that is living with you, you have to get off your a$$ and support yourself/dependants. Hates me to see parents on benefits and their kids grow up, not seeing responsibilities and stress, real work has.

Fair enough my mum didn't work a great deal after i was 10 (due to various diseases - so had to claim benefit - whilst she was on them, she spent her time helping a child day care club, working with the school with little errands etc), whilst my step dad was a labourer at night (well worked in parcelforce moving the parcels etc) and he'd be f00ked. Kids, whose parent's dont work or volunteer won't understand the meaning of work and will think its fine to just sit around all day.

Send them to one of the islands on the coast of cape town (seal island?), if they can swim to the coast, without being eating they have another chance.

We're living in Australia at the moment - the place most people in the uk see as the promised land.

I'd rather raise kids in the uk.

Financially it would be harder here as the cost of living is much higher.

our basic shopping bill is at least twice as much as back in the uk and the choice of product is less than half as good.

Utility bills average out about the same - no central heating but even here in melbourne ( the cold bit of oz ) you can't live in the summer without aircon on most of the time.

fuel is cheaper but you have to drive twice as far to get anywhere and second hand cars cost a bomb (4000 quid for a ten year old astra). The driving standards here are terrible , it's like deathrace 2000.

British drivers are polite , courtious and thoughtful. Hard to believe I know but true.

Houses are massively overpriced and very badly built - $500,000 (300,000 quid) for a giant static caravan with no garden anyone?

crime here is pretty much on a par with the uk - there are drug gangs , there are gangs of feral kids ,there are rough suburbs.

If immigration is an issue to you , they have there own problems here too.

Your health service is free at the point of contact! not perfect but free! I've used the NHS a fair bit in my life and have no real complaints.

Here you have to pay the equivilent of NI then you have to pay to visit a doctor , pay to visit a specialist , pay for an ambulance if ,sorry , when you get run over by a drunk tradie on a friday afternoon!

what i'm trying to say is the UK isn't as bad as you think and it has some things nowhere else in the world has.

Culturally , the uk is streets ahead of any other english speaking country , It has some of the best educational standards in the world.

The physical land itself is some of the most stunning scenery anywhere.

Just look at the peak district , the yorkshire moors , dartmoor ,exmoor , the lake district , the devon/corwall coast, north wales , the scottish highlands , the new forest , the norfolk fens......... for such a small , crowded place it blows my mind how beautiful it is.

the weather is 5hit tho'.
