I have quite a bad curve to my spine, i look like an early stage hunch back unless i make sure i stand up straight. Its hard though to keep straight though all day long. Does anyone think deadlifting of squatting could make this worse? I'm planning on going to the doctor to see their opinion, maybe a brace or something would help lol

just change in posture may help, shoulders back, back straight, takes a while getting use to it but it will sort itself out (only if its a minor postural problem i think) there was a thread on this few months ago i think, worth having a search for it mate.

My mrs is the same, its from years of bad posture and is very difficult to put right, i know another who was same and went to yoga, after about a year of Yogaring:confused1: she now walks like one of these finishing school models and she's no spring chicken. The mrs blames it on the fact she has had big tats since she was 13, used to get teased at school by all the boys so she sort of sub consciously tried to hide them by walking arched, I've been on at her for years to stand tall but she's not improved much, although she's now started training a bit so that could help. Its a lot easier for her now as she can just sling one over each shoulder:D

I can't see short acts of bending over like squats, dl's, making much difference to years of bad posture tbh, but thats only mho.

mate...get yourself to a doc...then referred to a physio or spine specialist just to be on the safe side...when it comes to spine and curvatures....if includes pain,then...i deem that as very important...!!!

better to be safe than sorry...get yourself checked and know if it is bad or not...may be genetic, may be something that can be remedied quite easily....

sitting long lengths of time tends to give bad posture....get checked out and know what you can do to counter this...spine is important....my gf mum and her brother has this...and they left it til it got bad....and now its very painful to them....even getting steroid injections for their backs...etc....dont leave it!!!

hope your well...and you get this resolved...leave the training til your sorted!!!!!!

i spent 5 minutes stretching my back out before i left the house...

realised its very 'congested' when i lean over backwards, forward range of motion is not too bad, but its very stiff back the wsa so (was more than a tad painful) leaned over backwards for a few mins till i was staring at the back wall.. then tried stretching forwards then backwards and it seemdd to loosen things a tad.

definitely felt better afterward... i,m gonna do the same this arvo before i eat
