i know clomid is part of pct and it helps get you levels back to normal but what does it actually do to the body to get it back normal?

iam just wondering what it does to the body as my wife is going to start a cycle of this soon as part of fertility treatment.

i'll keep this well brief...google FSH(follicle stimulating hormone),LH(luteinising hormone),GnRH(gonadotrphin relesing hormone) and SHBG(sex binding hormone globulins)...these are some of the main things HCG and clomid help with restoration to original homeostasis for normal range values again,(also try HPTA hypothalamic pituitary-Testicular axis)..to do with the hypothalamus, pituitary gland, testes, leydig cells, sertoli cells etc etc

etc.............

sorry for not going too deep and explaining everything just a bit tired and taking sunday as a chillout day!!!!

i'm sure someone will be along to give yo some more detailed scientific accounts!!!!

Hi Adam,

My wife was also prescribed clomid when we had four years of heartache trying to start a family,it worked out well for us in the end and I hope you and your wife have the same success, keep us posted mate.

Briefly, clomid is used for men to determine if one is secondary hypogonadism.

It basicly will block estrogen to the hypothalamus and cause the pituitary to be supercharged.

100mg of clomid for 5 to 7 days doubles LH output, and increases FSH by 20% to 50%.

Best PCT drug in my opinion for the Pituitary.

yes she is on it for ovulation, im glad everything worked out for you hertderg i hope it does the same for us. we already have one daughter (4 years old) but we wanted 2 close together and after trying for this long nothing has happened so we saw a specialist and she is starting this soon,

heard it can produce twins and twins already run in my wifes family so you never know what could happen, could go from 1 child to 3.

did do a bit pf reading but i hate reading and just wondered if there was anything simpler to understand, and was worried about any sides she may have so i can get ready for them (ie bad mood swings ect)

thanks for info guys

hey again...i didnt read the question properly...be very careful if your wife is taking that...because it is known to cause multiple births!!!!!

that amanda barry who had 8 (octuplets) was in the news!

i think clomid is a low level fertility drug though at about 10% chance of multiple births!!!

i'm not trying to scare you...just know thats one of the effects, because it make ovulation very receptive to stimulate the ovaries to ripen a follicle and to extrude an ovum (egg)!

when i get a bit more richer,i'm thinking of getting back with the ex and giving her some heavy duty proteinage and probably settling down proper n having a few kids more...reckon i'll chuck her a few clomid!!!!

Chances of multiple births are only slightly more mate (5% chance of twins compared to 1% in normal pregnancies). I wouldnt worry if I were you as long as she follows cycling advice to the letter.

A lot of the scare stories are due to women actually taking clomid in larger doses and for longer than prescribed out of desperation. It's well documented.

Im a twin and my mom was taking fertility drugs (have no idea which).

I was said to be a triplet before birth, but the other one died.

My older bro was said to be a twin, if hey/they made it, I would not be here today, only my older brother Jim made it.

Life tosses us some curve balls some times.....

It is who makes the best of it is a good thing.
