Hi lads i know alot of you have oppions on this but please only helpful advice. I am 16 stone and been lifting for years. I am in good big shape but need to burn some fat never done cardio so me and my mate decided to train for a half marathon. Im unfit so decided to buy a heart rate monitor. First time wearing it tonight and apparantly the best zone for a 26 year old to burn fat is 97 - 164 bpm. But my heart got the 170 very quickly so i had to go down to walking pace for my heart so slow down. so im burning the most fat possible. Just didnt seem right walking or will it get harder to reach that heart rate as i get fitter not sure how it works

cheers for any advice

For fat burning you want to aim for around 120-130bpm any higher and your body will resort to using carbs for fuel.

Im assuming you're doing this whilst on a cut?
