As title . Lying neck raises on bench (plate on forehead) . Is there any way to stop the abs engaging on this ? I believe the master himself AlphaDestiny said it's almost impossible to stop them , and I guess anything that works the abs out is good in the long run , but for efficiency purposes is there any way of minimising their involvement in the movement ?

Yes. Don't put yourself in a position where they need to support the weight and contract.
almost impossible mr boyle , the only remedy i can see , although i haven't tried it , is to do reverse standing neck harnesses , although obviously that's going to severely limit the weight used as you don't want 20kg+smashing into your brain stem . Looks like it might be frontal neck bridges then , if it was good enough for Tyson ...
