Never tire of hearing how much cleverer you are than everyone else on here Mickey. You are incapable of being wrong and even when you are you change the narrative to something you can be right about and them claim to have been right all along. It's a lovely maneuver to see time after time. And how you have done more research than anyone else and are now assuming a greater knowledge than the world's leading scientists and public  health experts. Which scientific model did you  employ for your research methodology again? Are you planning to publish anywhere other than on UK Muscle at all? There are some who would say seeking out evidence that supports your already preconceived conclusion isn't actually research at all. But luckily your superior critical and analytical thinking skills will no doubt find a way round that.

Apparently most people who get it are. I gave up smoking 15+ years ago and they didn’t think it was connected - just unlucky. I remained anxious about it coming back and the surgeon simply said, it’s the guys who keep smoking that I end up operating on again - even the ones that cut right down. Only stopping completely reduces the risk. Tell your mate to give his head a wobble.
The other guys in my 4 bed ward all ended up with temporary tracheotomies - poor sods were choking all night - it was awful. I was lucky - lost about a quarter of my tongue and and all the lymph nodes out of my neck which damages nerves in your face and shoulder. Took a bit to get over but all good now - even speech fully recovered. Getting back into weight-training as quickly as possible after the operation was definitely a good move in ensuring a full recovery for the nerves, mobility and strength. I’m like it never happened now apart from the massive scar down my neck.

Do you know what prompted me to go? Had a message from an ex colleague who told me of one of our friends in his 30’s just recovering from cancer of the mouth, required his jaw bone to be replaced with thigh bone, completely rebuilt with new teeth, he is a smoker.

He might save your life one day. Went to see mine a couple of years back and mentioned a sore on the side of my tongue. Thankfully he referred me urgently for biopsy and I was able to get in for surgery and treatment for cancer at a very early point. Couple of other fellas in the ward said they had had toothache that turned out to be cancer of the jaw. Definitely worth staying on the right side of your dentist.

On another subject I went to my NHS Dentist today as they are open Sunday due to backlog. Sure I am going to have nightmares tonight with the dentist & nurse leaning over my face like a scene from Breaking Bad with those respirator type masks. Dentist also had lights in the glasses & was of course armed with a drill, proper scary as I don’t like the dentists at the best of times.

Increased working from home = more wanking from home. It’s probably w**ker’s elbow but blaming resistance bands is more socially acceptable.

Kazza61 reacted to BLUE(UK) in What would you prefer home gym or commercial gym
I have a home gym and was also using the local gym too. I’m not fussed whether I use my home gym or commercial since I have heavier dumbells in my garage, my bench is better suited to me, My lat  pull down machine and low row machine are smoother, my seated calf raise is better, my handle attachments are better suited to my hand size as well as my dips frame since custom made for me. I also have bands and chains which I’ve adapted to suit my needs when I use them.
The gym has a hack squat, gym bunnies, banter but their machines despite being new Hammer Strength aren’t suited to the bigger lads.
I’m pleased that I have myself options.
