A quick Google and according to iNews in relation to the Pfizer vaccine:
mRNA vaccines can leap ahead in the development of traditional ones, as the time spent on producing noninfectious viruses or producing viral proteins is not needed.
This allows them to eliminate the bulk of the manufacturing process required for other vaccines, as it pushes the human body to manufacture viral proteins itself.
This makes it suited to being redesigned, scaled up and mass produced.

Apparently though, finding out about Covid 19 was not Day 1 in terms of developing a vaccine. Much of the leg work had already been done on developing a new type of vaccines on to which you could overlay different viruses. I did previously post an article on this but can't leave locate it at the moment. Here is an article about the woman who led the Oxford team which references it. She has previously worked on vaccine development for Ebola and SERS.

Any idea what the usual process is for a vaccine? And the approval process? I genuinely have no idea about the process, but from what's being said (and yes, I question it, because I'm skeptical about the pace of development too) we have supposedly purely removed the red tape and the waiting process. Yeah, yeah, I don't quite believe that either.
I like @KETONES 'never before' post. It's insightful and genuinely though provoking, but is it informed, or is it pure assumption that because it has never been done before, it isn't possible? Never before had we put a man on the moon...never before did we have penicillin, never before did we have semiconductors and microchips etc. A 'never before' is met with 'now we do'. That isn't to say Ketones is wrong, it's just another way of looking at it. I don't know which is the correct view. But of course it's likely corners must have been cut when you compare 4-5yrs to 6-8 months.
I have no idea how medium and long term sides are considered to be an issue. But if the vaccine produces antibodies/t-cells as part of a short lived immune response, and is only good for 5 months or so, then should we expect any long term side effects? I suppose this is what medium and long terms studies are for...
And this all assumes that we didn't know about this virus until January/February.

When you say ‘the’ government are you just referring to the UK government? Because their message is pretty much on a par with governments and scientists right across the world and on every continent. Countries that cannot even agree on climate change, human rights, trade, fishing, all on the same page - just how the fvck did that happen??
And as for the rest of the little pub quiz you set me, nothing to be suspicious about all - I just didn’t want to give you the satisfaction of wanking yourself off to the preconceived answers you think I’m going to give and then you can give me the responses you’ve already thought of.
Back to old Saddam, maybe tell that one CIA Analyst that UN experts confirmed in 1986 that Iraq had contravened the Geneva Convention by using chemical weapons against Iran.

That's exactly the same experience I've seen mate.
A 64/65yr old heavy smoke hardly suffered - said he barely knew he had it other than lethargy  My aunt suffered long covid and still does months on My best mate, 32yr old girl, every so slightly overweight, scarred lungs and extreme lethargy A mate at work, 24yr old lad, described it as a bad cold A 3yr old had constant immune responses and a raging temperature, resulting in all kinds of rashes for months after infection

I'll assume you've not been following all of wyldes posts. Nobody is claiming pedophilia or sex trafficking isn't an issue. What everyone objects to, is the assumption that because you're a billionaire, a politician or a celebrity you're almost guaranteed to be a pedophile. When there is no evidence to suggest there would be a statistically significant deviation from the norm based on these factors.

Exactly. Just like the variable personal responses people have to using Gear, the response to a virus is also variable from person to person.
I got it on my way back from Sweden in late March. Was a simple cough, just like a mild cold. Recovered in 3 days. Barely even a problem at all. Meanwhile, my sister's Ex has got it, and has been in bed for 2 weeks saying he is going to die. He is 31 and fit as a fiddle.
    It's totally variable.
