I've been 3 times, every time on my own. Done Southeast Asia, Australia and South America. Lived in Bangkok for 9 months too. Travelled Australia for 12 months and only did a month in South America (Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Argentina). Just do it, trust me you won't regret it. You'll meet the best people and have a different outlook on life. Every time I've done it I've quit my job and never looked back. There'll always be jobs waiting for you back home but you'll rarely get opportunities to experience life like this, so do it while you can.
