monkeybiker reacted to Chicken_Boy in This time last year?
I was dogsledding in Sweden this time last year with these guys. The snow we had today brought all the memories back. Doesn't look like I will be going on holiday anywhere this year. Will have to make up for it in 2022.

From what I can gather - general consensus is because you’re a Dickhead.

Got me motivated to do some stones again!
The wee one was going well. Did about 30 reps in total -
The big Mofo came off the ground, but went no further!! A few weeks and I'll have it!

Not at all Surprising. ... and more months of listening to people who never took it seriously from day 1, moan about the circumstances they’ve ignorantly helped create.

monkeybiker reacted to Pez189 in What’s your alcohol intake each week just now?
Lol doesn’t bare thinking about. Wouldn’t bother me in the slightest but there would be uproar. Never happen of course as government make too much money from it.

Neither is working a night shift, but for some it's a necessity.
Just because you don't see it as being acceptable, doesn't mean to others that it isn't either.
I work nights often, but personally I don't drink after work, but in the same vane, I don't drink after work when doing day shifts.
I do however drink often at weekends and have done for near 30 years without any issues
I'm still in good shape, fit and healthy and fully functional.
Just can't see why someone having a few beers after work, just because it's 6am is so bizarre, compared to others having a couple at 6pm

I was pointing out it's not an easy thing to achieve in reference to you saying it can be achieved peacefully and with ease.

It's just a discussion, I don't think anyone is getting there nickers in a twist.

It probably isn't the healthiest thing to do but I don't think that is what was being discussed. It more a case of it being considered weird to have a drink after a nightshift.
It does effect my sleep even if I have a few drinks at the weekend it effects my sleep I just don't consider it weird. I also don't do it that often and the effect on my sleep is one of the reasons.

I would say shift work does play into it a lot and it's probably fairly normal. Not talking about getting drunk but one or two drinks after a nightshift is fairly normal.
I work nightshift sometimes and might have one or two but not every day just if I felt like it. It might only be once in the week or maybe not at all as I'm not a big drinker.
I don't see it anymore a problem than someone having a drink or two after a late shift.

monkeybiker reacted to Tricky in What’s your alcohol intake each week just now?
Totally agree. I’ve been on 4 nights. Last night being my last of the set of shifts so I had 3 bottles this morning. I know plenty of hospitality staff and nightshift managers, police, fire service, ambulance staff and chefs who finish in the early hours or the morning and unwind with one or two before getting off to sleep.

They’ve lived there 40 years and want to move to a bigger place. I think it’s because they’ve finally run out of storage and need more room, maybe they’re moving into a warehouse??

monkeybiker reacted to lewdylewd in Alternative housing to live mortgage free
Mortgages are the cheapest they’ve ever been and will be for the forseeable future.
The interest rate is lower than inflation, in real terms your literally paying back less than your borrowing. Then add property appreciation, and if you can get more than one mortgage add rental yield.
So contrary to others advice here, the fastest way to financial security is to take as much mortgage debt as you possibly can, don’t pay it down, every £ your intending on paying down mortgage debt should instead be invested.

Tel won the WSM Masters 2020 so I guess he's doing something right.

What a stupid fu**ing comment.
if he qualifies to compete, why would he not? He can still try and improve/get a higher place, earn himself sponsors etc. Good luck to the man imo
thats like saying why does anyone compete, most know they don’t stand a chance of being number 1 but it competing against yourself and to be in the finals of the whole world, again imo is a recognised achievement
I don’t post much anymore but do pop in from time to time and what I’ve seen you are a massive bellend, just saying. Enjoy the rest of your day

uBlock Origin is the best. I even use it on Firefox on my Android phone, ditched useless Chrome for that.

I mostly watch youtube on my laptop. When the advert comes on at the start of the video I press M to mute the sound and wait. If I can't hear the advert it doesn't bother me.

monkeybiker reacted to EpicSquats in Cost to run convector heater
I'm basking topless in 20C heat right now. The landlord will have to pay. Lol.
-
monkeybiker reacted to Donny dog in Cost to run convector heater
Well yeah, the cost to heat the room up initially has to be factored in I guess. But I thought the question was how much does it cost to simply run the heater in which case the formula already given is correct.
Either way if I was him I wouldn’t be standing for being cold as f**k in the middle of winter worrying that my landlord is gonna complain about the leccy bill for the month when the shyster clearly doesn’t care much for his welfare.
