Re: can anyone help with boring brown rice

Salad cream or mayo mixed in sweetens brown up nicely. Personally I like brown rice, makes a change from plain old white.

Teriyaki - yeah its nice. Not sure about the salt content though?

I like to add Chinese 5 Spice seasoning to rice when steaming it.

Re: can anyone help with boring brown rice

I add a vegetable OXO cube, and then 200g of frozen peas or spinach, after it is cooked.

I also cook it for about 5 min longer than the pack says or I find it can still taste hard.

I also like the rice to be softer so I cook it a bit longer. I always put some sauce on it so it`s not too `dry` to eat and tastes nice (Thai Curry stuff is my fav). Also put Greean Giant corn in it (the naturally sweet one, great stuff), couldn`t eat rice without corn anymore lol
The best rice you can get is probably the brown basmati rice, very nice tase and smell. Bit expensive, but you can always buy them in bulk when it`s on sale. It`s half price in sainsburry`s currently give it a shot you may like it

Sh*t all this talk about rice made me hungry, time to visit the kitchen :bounce:
