I feel this would be a great help

This is a brilliant idea. A beginner's guide to competing would be so helpfull for a lot of us here.

i think i could give a few pointers to novices about what its like backstage and on stage but actual prep i have never hit the nail on the head so my advice would not be that valid.....

backstage it can be a nerve racking time, trying to work out who else is in your class.... sometimes people are very quiet and keep themselves to themselves a lot, others dont mind chatting

my advice is to chat to people and practise posing/getting the tan right with them if possible (if they want to)

when you get out onstage make sure you have practised the poses, there is nothing worse than an ace physique carried by a shoddy poser

be confident, you cant change anything at the last minute

i think there is a full guide on bb.com somewhere sorry i havent got time to write much more down but i could go on forever

good idea, was only yesterday i was asking about natural compeating, and size etc etc , paul and con kindly jumped in an explained conditioning was more important than size, so i would be interested, maybee be good if it could show differencs in prep for natty and not, male and female etc etc

how can you chip in if you have not been through it?
competing is a minefeild mate there are loads of things that come into play as everyone is different.
i have certain ways that i get guys/girls ready for shows that my atletes pay for i would not openly discuss them for free...
