Repping is boring and without neg rep we wouldn't have so many people getting their knickers in a twist over it, which I find pretty funny when you actually put the whole thing in context.

Reps should carry the user name. I have nothing to hide; if I think that someone is talking shíte or being offensive, I'll tell them. But maybe it's a feature of the software that the admins have no control over?

I think its something that can be implemented if required Lorian has a few other boards and you can see who has repped you, what time and date as well as the normal comments that can cause so many frustration and annoyance

On BOI - Hacks and Wingers board it is implemented

uk-m and BOI are both Atheda boards.

Personally I have no issue with turning on the usernames in the rep system so you can see who said what.

My concern is that, if that was done now, are we are going to suddenly have a flaming vendetta accross the forums as people who left negative comments believing them to be private suddenly find themselves open to abuse.

We'll post a poll on it after Easter to give everyone a chance to vote anonymously.

In 99% of cases neg reps are left by people who 'carry' so little rep power anyway that it's not worth worrying about.

Case in point, the guy who PM'd me just now - you have been repped 59 times in March so far.. the total positive rep points accumulated from that is 2136 .. JUST IN MARCH! .. and as for the one person who neg repped you... well, you lost a massive -2 points.
