![]() | group buy on supplements ive done them on loads of other forum im a member of but ive never done or seen them on body building forums! for those that dont know il explain how it works- we all know that buying in bulk gets you discounts for instance one well known site gives you 40% off if you order over 25kg!!! thats could be all your supps at half price! So what you do is nominate a trusted board member someone well known or known off of the board aswell as on like a mod or the board owner or long term member etc. then weel all post in one thread how much we want of whatever the substance is i.e i would put- whey isolate Harry 3kg the nominee tots up the total amount and gets a quote from whatever company its decide to use (you normally get more than advertised bulk discount purley because there getting there product to so many people in a tight market place) everyone sends there money (registered of course) with a letter containing the order and the address to the nominee who places the order and when it arrives bags it up seperately and send its to the respective people. it sounds complicated but once its running its soooo easy and sooo cheap, i got a £1400 rollcage for my rally x car for £400 with group buying! if no ones up for stepping forward and organising one i have no problem doing it but i thought id put it to the forum first as they tend to work better with a longstanding member simply on the trust factor. |

| Sexy Moderator | Re: group buy on supplements The bulk buy wouldnt work. If you have 10 people all buying, thats 9 x £6 to post everything out to everyone, so thats £54 gone off your savings, which will equal everything out. Whey, Powders, etc are so damn cheap anyway, its not worth it. We have 2 powder sellers on here, MP and BP. Both very good and very cheap.

![]() | Re: group buy on supplements im sure it could still work dont forge that on top of your non bulk order fromt eh supplier youve sitll got to pay P+P. in the worst case scenario we could send the orders out to 5 or 6 members round the coutnry and let people go and pick them up from there thats how we did a recent one with differentials go the shipping on them was so expensive due to weight?!?!? even on things like plates and benches for at home its worth thinking about |

On most sites you get a 20-25% discount of supps anyway. some give 30% for oreders over £100 and you still get free postage. believe me supp selling is not a high profit business you wont get that much of a discount. if you want a discount why not just set up a business account and thgen get a trade account with a distributor. This will save you 30-40% of most things.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: group buy on supplements I tried to set up a business account before, could get a bloody VAT number! They wanted to see proof that I was going to trade but the company I was dealing with couldn't sell me anything without a VAT number so I didnt get very far! |

A business acoount and some headed paper is all I needed. However it does pay to be in the business (of bodybuilding) as well.

| UK-M's Token Aussie | Re: group buy on supplements I am just lucky I guess.. I own a studio and buy BSN products to "sell" in the studio even though I simply use the products myself. So I already save 40%.. Not that it would help you guys cause I live in Australia :P

![]() | Re: group buy on supplements If I used lots of a particular product, I would phone/email around suppliers and haggle a discount for buying x number. Suppliers will often offer further discounts, it just depends if you have the money up front to spend.

I did an order from biiotest once.. UK retail was 900 quid.. Including the shipping to the uk and import tax I ended up paying only 500 quid. Like the other guys say, the savings would have to be huge to make it pay due to the weight of the product. Yep, it could work for things like trib or fat burners, but there are so few things like that which actually work for all that you couldn't get enough of an order together. |

![]() | Re: group buy on supplements interesting idea harry. There was similar opportunities on another forum that I was a member of also - as with yourself, a specialised car forum. However, the items cost hundreds of pounds to start with, so more opportunity to make a decent saving on a bulk order. As highlighted above, the price of Supp's is baseline anyway, therefore any savings made would be minimal, wouldn't be worth the effort. Also there are a number of featured companies on this site that will offer discount to members anyway! ;) Nice thought though. |
