Too many gimps are joining purely to try and peddle their **** and advertise their own businesses without contributing to the board.

I will reinstate it as soon as we decide how best to limit it to regular posters only.

That's what happens at other boards mate, I'd suggest a minimum of x of all the following:

1. rep points;
2. time between creating membership and using Classified;
3. posts, and not all in one subsection either (can't all be about Dianabol!)

In the interim, apply an undisclosed minimum post count that allows well-established members usage until such time as a fair system can be devised.

I hope the Classified section re-opens soon, seems a shame that the sensible majority have to suffer for the actions of a idiot minority.

yeh good idea.. id say base it along how many posts a person has done... say a minimum of 20-30posts before being allowed to access the classified/exchange area.
dont think it's wise to base upon rep points.. people like me will be waiting around forever lol ive only had 3rep comments.. i had 4 but 1 has gone missing :S

hmm.. true, if an advertiser was determined to post on this website he would sit and give 20 valid posts to meet requirements, but it was simply an example.. sure raise it to 3-400 posts.. no biggie :p

I'll tell you what's happening out there, a lot of these so-called 'Advertisers' are actually young students, houswives or unemployed who were taken in by recruiting adverts promising earnings of £500 a day for 'Internet Marketing', which really means they have slyly impersonate a bona-fide poster, but really they are only there to put up a weblink for their company's site. On some sites where they can get away with it they will just put up a link on the first post, on others they will make a brief "Hi, my name is Benjy and I'm a young student wanting to put on muscles!" introduction, post a few smilies here and there to get the post count up high enough for access to all areas of the website, and then put in a quiet link saying, "I had some really great service from this company, just wanted to share it with you all.

These poor idiots will put up a hundred such ads a day, do it for a few weeks, and get a standard fob-off mail prior to 'pay-day' saying that "your choice of websites is poor and we cannot continue", all the while advertising for more commercially inept people to join up.

And so it goes on...

How do I know all this? It's common sense, isn't it?!?!?!

Yeah I know, that's what I told the Inspector who led the interrogation..he did notice the same receding hairline, but after a slapping me around he noticed there was no boot polish on his palm, so it can't have been me....
