Deadlifting - Hook Grip?

I've looked at a number of different form guides for the deadlift.

Some promote the hook grip, some say a normal grip with both hands facing the same way.

Which is best?! :confused1:

Hook is supposed to be superior, I don't like it though, and just use alternate grip, or hook my thumb over the top of my fingers instead of underneath

personal choice buddy, i use normal grip with both hands facing my body, i'm comfortable and stable.........

i've tried other grips and hated them, think it depends also how strong your grip is....

i prefer overhand grip- get more weight with that-its just down to each individual.

I use hook grip. I do a fair bit of Oly lifting so have got into the habit of deadlifting the same way.

I currently use an alternating overhand/underhand grip but may try using the hook grip on deads like I do with the B.O. Row
