when training two bodyparts, for e.g. chest and biceps in the same workout, do you think it is best to do all the chest exercises, then all the bicep ones, or to alternate i.e. do one chest, then one bicep exercise and so on.

Personally I don't prefer to train anything with chest(or back, or shoulders, or legs). If I did I would keep them seperate and most definately exaust my chest first.

I agree with zues. I would exaust one muscle group before moving onto the next. The whole point is to try and stress the muscles which in turn makes them grow. See if it works for your routine.

well i have tried both really, for all my bodyparts. Basically the only advantage of alternating is that it allows you to use more weight on the exercises, as the muscle has more time to rest imbetween.

If you believe that is an advantage and it works for you than stick with it. I guess it depends what your goals are. Persoanlly I believe if you want to maximize growth you would be better to focus on the major muscle groups individually. JMO

If I train chest with extreme focus, determination and a high output of energy, there is no point in trying to train another bodypart. Reason being.....that other bodypart is going to get the short end of the stick as my energy is depleted and my my mind is exausted.

Some people train 2 bodyparts a day and like it. I have done it both ways and have had FAR better results focusing on the bigger muscle groups individually and by themselves..
