Yeah I think it's s**t personally. I've been to last few at headingley and they normally start about 1ish and finish about 5-6pm depending on time to set each event up so starting at 6 I dread to think what time people will be leaving the first direct arena.
Glad you mentioned the time! Knew it was indoors but wasn't it also indoors last year? Imagine it would make for a good show being a bit closer to the action. Will need to book some accommodation now.
Looking at taking my 10yo lad to this, as he's a big fan of strongman stuff. What I was wondering is if you can usually get to meet the competitors afterwards for pics etc...?
Never been to an event like this, so am unsure how things roll.
If you buy the vip pack you get to meet the guys after the event is done I did it 2 years ago at headingley wasn't standing next to Thor tho big bastard
Tbh, indoors may be better depending on the size of the arena as I went to one at Doncaster doom and also been to the one at Headingley and the doom was much better, you could see more and it was a great atmosphere. The time thing though is a bit rubbish, gonna be a late one.
I was talking about this event with a mate at the weekend (he's not into the weights in any way). He said he'd seen a pic of Eddie Hall standing near Shaw and commented that "He's not that big really, is he!?"
I replied "No. At 6'2" and 27-28st, he's just a fu**ing pup!" Idiot. Haha.
I think they went for a,bigger venue I'm not keen on the, start time as im driving up from Suffolk will reserve judgment till I've been and seen for myself
