How long does a protien shake last once mixed?

Hello all

Kind of new to supplements and wondered how long a protien/creatine shake lasts after iv mixed it?

Problem being that if i try and mix it bu shaking the container around with my hand it doesnt mix very well, if at all. So i mix it with an electric blender, problem there being that although it mixes really well, it leaves a nasty froth. So i tend to let it stand for about an hour before drinking it, usually whilst im doing my workout. Is that alright, or does it start to fall apart by then?

Thanks.

I use an electric hand blender and never get a froth but I do mix it with milk. I think I have mixed it with water a few times if I am out of milk but can't remember it frothing.

Don't have many protein drinks anyway but the one I have now is EAS whey protein.

You could try mixing in deep cup with a fork for less froth, if you must have one at all and without froth. You could not have one and same some good cash. Or you could just put it shaker with blender ball, shake and drink. If it is liquid and you want to have one then actually you can just drink it :), as you are using it as a tool not a pleasure.

Edit: As for you question, it will probably be fine to leave it whilst you w/o.

it will always be a protein shake

Ok, i hear what people are saying but i just thought it might start breaking down if mixed and then left for a while.

The protein is question is "Nutrisport 90+", i didnt personally think this would be considered the cheap sh**e???

Iv tried mixing it in various different sized bottles and shakers and the results are always the same. Theres always a certain amount of powder either stuck to the bottom of the bottle that wont mix or floating at the top. This can be upto 5 minutes of shaking, surely i cant be doing something wrong, i mean how many ways are there to shake a bottle?

why not just take a bottle of water and mix it when ready to drink it?

As stated earlier iv tried this but it doesnt mix properly, tends to leave lumps stuck everywhere in the shaker.

Use an mp shaker that has the little ball inside

Was actually AMAZED when I first used it as

My shake came out so smooth it was thin like water normally it was a bit thik like a milkshake but now thin as water

As for froth mine settles done after a minute but if I use more water I get no froth

I use a wee monster suppliments shaker with the wee ball, its ideal! not much froth at all and blends it perfectly! I usually blend one up, take it to work and keep it in the fridge seems to be perfect every time!

I find the Maxi Raw protein mixes the best don't need any fancy Shaker mixes well in water or milk no lumps or bits stuck to bottom of shaker,

I will say put the liquid in first then the scoop of protein,
