| Gym Addict | Ethyl Esters Ehtyl Esters are being used more and more, e.g. Glutamine, creatine, arginine etc. Previously creatine would use lipids as a transport mechanism and diffuse into cells, and since it was not that efficient soem creatine is deposited outside the cell and cause the water absorbtion/bloating. If I understand correctly (which i probably do not) esters are used to improve the efficiency of the lipid transport mechanism, meaning that more of the creatine actually reaches the cell. My question is, if when taking creatine monohydrate a person did not experience any water retention, or bloating, but did see gains in strength etc surely the creatine was being transported into the cells. Presumably ethly esters will require lower dosages, since they are more efficient, but they still rely on the same transport mechanism as "normal" creatine did. Why not attach the creatine, or choice supplement, to a ligand, which should target specific areas of the cell and be fully absorbed? ( but hey, i aint no chemist...) |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Creatine Monohydrate - 46% absorption Creatine Ethyl Ester - 96% absorption Rough figures of course, but you can see straight away that it is more beneficial to use the CEE as apposed to the monohydrate. More creatine getting into the cells would mean better results ![]()

| Gym Addict | thanks man, but i was trying ask whether some people will not notice any difference between using the two. e.g. If the cells are fully saturated with monohydrate, then would using the ester be benefical? I sense an experiment, shall use myself as a guinea pig ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm going to try the new usn cee product in the next couple of weeks. I'm unsure on ethyl esters. It all sounds good but I've yet to see any studies at all on them that show them to be any better than regular creatine mono. At the end of the day, with all supplements I think you have to try them for yourself to really see if they are any good - so thats what I'll do in this case. I think there was a thread recently where pscarb said he'd used the cnp and bsn cee products and rated them very highly.
