| Your Friendly neighbourhood pusha! | Whey I have always wondered at what stage would I buy a non weight gainer shake?what i mean is that I always buy shakes that have protein+carbs, when should i consider just getting the one with protein? As I thaught that you need to have carbs present in order for the protein to get transported to the muscles and for them to be absorbed by them? please advice.

| The Lady Of The Manor | All whey protein shakes have an amount of carbs in them, whether it be large or small amounts, they still have them in! I think if you are happy with your shape and size or need to go onto a cutting phase or are trying to lose a bit of BF/weight then a pure whey would be ideal. Everyone has different opinions when it comes to supplements, so its a case of trial and error. Some people dont like jumping from a mass gainer down to a pure whey, so they switch to a MRP such as Met-RX drink mix's or EAS Myoplex. Still have the consistency of a mass gainer and fill you up but without all the sugary carbs. The MRP shakes tend to stick around the 20g-40g mark.

| Your Friendly neighbourhood pusha! | So by getting pure whey, all im realy doing is reducing the carb intake by not getting them from my shake?

| The Lady Of The Manor | well there is many other factors such as different amino's are in some MRP's/mass gainers and wheys. Plus different protein blends are in MRP rather than just pure whey. A lot of people go for the MRP shakes rather than pure whey tbh. But as I said everyone has different opinions. You need to look into the exact content of each whey shake before you make a decision. So are you thinking on swtiching to whey then I take it?

| The Lady Of The Manor | TBH pure whey is the same no matter what brand you get really. Its just the amount of protein per serving that is different, some are flavoured with Aspartame, some with sweetners etc. I think it really goes on taste and price mainly with pure whey.
