You can mix it with whatever you want, mixing it with milk is a good idea when it comes to bulking.

Well, I've read that you are best to mix with water as milk has it's own comniation of aminos, which can unbalance the combination of aminos in the protein drink. IE lead to you taking in more of one than another.
I normally mix it with water after training but mix with low fat milk last thing at night and first thing in the morning, so it takes longer to absorb.

Water post workout, milk any other time.

Milk is casein based which slows down absorption - a bad thing post workout, good thing any other time. Certainly tastes better with milk! After a workout, you want the protein to be processed asap so go for pure whey with water.

I would add a carb to that shake like bananna or strawberry. I would also add flax seed about a tablespoon with that for the good mono-unsaturated fat.
This way you get a good quality protein, a good quality fat and a good quality carb. You can treat this as a meal.
If you cant get the flaxseed then eat a couple of olives or a small handfull of peanuts. Raw would be preferred but if not then any other kind.

Silentbob as usual you are on top of it. After workout no milk. Probably should be takin with a juice to shuttle it into the muscles. But any other time I suggest that you use milk. When you take whey by itself it asimilates the fastest, but for the shortest amount of time. If it is not a post workout protein drink, I think you should get whey, milk and egg and soy all together. It gives you a nice long even absorption for a longer period of time. The whey hits you first, then the milk and egg kicks in then the soy kicks in. Now are you going to add all those different proteins tegether? Well yea, or you can do the cheap mans protein stack and just take it with milk. Paul you have the most fun forum on the internet. You are the man.
