Hydrochloric Acid Tabs

I've been browsing through Dr Franco Columbo's Nutrition Bible and he keeps raving on about Hydrochloric Acid Tablets to aid in the absorbsion of Protein etc.

Is there any merit in using these?

Hydrochloric acid is what your stomach produces to digest fats and protein.....so adding 1/2 to 1 tab at large protein meals helps to reduce bloat and improve overall digestion,imo....

Thats interesting, Does it work the other way with adding anti-acids? i.e, if you take an indigestions tablet that works as an acid neutraliser are you actually reducing your bodys digestion ability?

gridlock...

yes, in some cases.

If you have an overproduction of acid it would just return it to normal. Funny thing is, most people who have acid problems get this from eating too much junk and sugar (which are acidic in the stomach)

When I was at my fattest I was getting really bad acid reflux, I had it all the time and it's really unplesant. It stopped though pretty much from the first day I started eating right, if I have a bad week now I start to get it again, works as a pretty good early warning indicator for me to get back on track.

very true gridlock

that brings up something else, having gut will put pressure on the stomach/intestines and actually drive the acids out into the esophagus, the solution... eat less and loose the gut in those cases, but again most docs still prescribe antiacids and such.

Prevention is the through eliminating the cause is game here, not treating the symptom.

You could also take some cayenne.
Copy and paste...

Digestion

Cayenne can rebuild the tissue in the stomach and the peristaltic action in the intestines. It aids elimination and assimilation, and helps the body to create hydrochloric acid, which is so necessary for good digestion and assimilation, especially of proteins. All this becomes very significant when we realize that the digestive system plays the most important role in mental, emotional and physical health, as it is through the digestive system that the brain, glands, muscles and every other part of the body are fed.

Also digestive enzymes are very important too. This makes all the diffrence in the world in regards to digestion.

Also while we are here some pro-biotics would be a very cheap and inexpensive way of helping all these things along.
One of the best things for over production of yeast.
Many people have problems with yeast production and pro-biotics are excellant for this, among other things.
If you want to know more about yeast then I will post apon request.

Never ever use ant acids, imo, worst thing for you and biggest scam going, just eat some non acidic fruits and that`ll shift the acid reflux etc in just a short a time and its better for you.

Too true like hypocrates said "treat the cause not the symptom"

Another thing to use as a guide when digestion is starting to get bad/rough is most people feel tight/pinching feeling in their traps(or for most left trap)this is a typical sign that the body is running too hot as chinese medicine to call it.

Cayenne Pepper raises hydrochloric acid naturally.
Has vitamin C, E and carotenoids.
It increases circulation, helps weak digestion, helps chronic pain, sore throats, headaches and toothache.
cayenne is also used to treat poor digestion and gas.
Chinese medicine uses cayenne for digestive ailments.

Cayenne soothes the digestive tract and stimulates the flow of stomach secretions and saliva. These secretions contain substances which help digest food.

There is no other herb which increases your blood flow faster than cayenne.
Cayenne is the greatest blood circulation stimulant known.
It makes all herbs work better.

Also, digestive enzymes work very well for breaking down food, if you have a problem with digestion then cayenne and digestive enzyme pretty much is all you need.

If you have a problem with digestion then dont take antacids, they will kill your digestion.
