Re: Truly the best weight gainer?

I would always make my own as opposed to buying a pre-made one mate. Most are just full of maltodextrin. IMO you can't beat a combo of oats, protein powder, olive oil and maybe fruit. The best pre-made one for lean gains would probably be Dorian Yates lean gain - it's probs the closest to real food as well.

Re: Truly the best weight gainer?

i agree with alistttair - make your own then you can cater to your own tastes

I used to make one with oats, protein, a banana, peanut butter and cocoa powder and it was a really nice drink - i used to look forward to it

Re: Truly the best weight gainer?

Gaining weight can mean getting fat. You gain weight. Not the right kind. mick_the_brick has posted a good gainer.

Re: Truly the best weight gainer?

I don't think you can get mammoth 2500 in many places nowadays tbh. I believe they've replaced with 'Applied Nutrition, Critical Mass'. I've used a few tubs of this recently, it does what it says, you do gain weight combined with the correct diet & training. I noticed some of the gains were fat but i wasn't too fussed about that.

But, I tend to agree with homemade ones. They can be altered much easier to suit your tastes & needs.

Maltodextrin is a fast carb which digests very quickly. Sugar high and crash means you wont be full for long. High insulin leads to unwanted fat gain in some.
