little help with whey protein

Right this is my first time using this stuff! I got some Reflex Instant Whey and was wondering when is the best time to take the two servings? Can you mix it with cooked foods like adding it to pancakes, porage oats etc.? Cheers

One serving would be fine right after workout! I'm only taking this to help recovery so you think just the one serving is fine?

I'd take a serving first thing in the morning upon waking as your body has been in a fasted state for the night and whey digests really quickly

Depends on your size, and the size of the portion of whey.

Post-workout I take 3 scoops of whey (90g total) and 75g of dextrose/maltodextrin. I'm 220lbs. I find this works quite well for me.

as soon as you cook whey it de-natures(kills it). so its not good to cook it! as big says right after the workout have a good serving (50-100g)

also the first thing in the morning is another good time for it. your body has had almost no nutrition for a good 8 hours whilst your sleeping so its crying out for protein. whey in the morning is perfect for it.

Of course your not cheating, everyone takes whey. Unless you can stomach an enormous amount of food to get the required protein intake, shakes are deffo the right way forward.

imo the best time to take it is during times when you have been without protein for a long time or when your body needs it most. That is, as well as after exercise, you should take it after a long sleep and before long periods of no food such as just before bed. I'd not take any with a main meal if there is enough protein sources in the meal.

matraca, id say something like cottage cheese or beef would be better bet for before bed, whay is in and out quick. those two linger around for ages. thus for a nice long kip they provide a nice drip feed of aminos
