What supplements are you taking?

I got real tired of taking the same whey or weigt gain shakes over and over again so Ive added a few different ones to my diet.

Dymatize Elite Whey Protein Butter cream toffee!!!!!

OMG I cant belive how nice it tastes, and it mixes so well in a few seconds even with milk. (thanks Lorian for mentioning this in another thread)
This has to be the nicest tasting shake ever?

Syntrax Nectar Whey Apple ecstacy:(
This is supposed to taste real nice, Syntrax claim you can "you can eat it right out of the container" but I find it tastes totally weird. I over dilute it otherwise I cant even drink it.

Maximuscle Progain Chocolate
Tastes pretty good and mixes really well with water, not too sweet and doesnt give me gas

Prolab nLarge 2 Chocolate
After reading how good this tastes on one of the uk-muscle threads I gave it a try.
Tastes pretty good when using milk but takes a while to mix.
Usually wack this down just before bed cos it seems to give me gas

v12 Turbo Orange
This stuff tastes hella nice, all be it a little too sweet.
Question to hackski, when do you take this? Ive been taking it prior to my workout, seems to give me a little extra kick.

SAN Tribuvar
Taking 6 caps a day as part of my m1t PCT, not too sure about this, havent noticed anything as yet.

Reflex Milk Thistle

Reflex L-Glutamine
Just drink this with water first thing in the morning and just before bed.

I actually haven't tried the Reflex Micellay Casein yet, but if it's flavoured like the rest of the Reflex range then strawberry is probably the nicest. Of course, peoples opinions vary!

I'll add our t-shirts onto the site tomorrow afternoon

when I start bulking i'm also going to add....

I find it hard to consume more than 3000 cals via solid foods mate.
I go through 2 chicken breasts,6 eggs,2 tins of tuna plus a lot of oatmeal and rice in a day anyway.
I take 2 servings of whey, first thing in the morning and post workout.
The weight gainer i use as a meal replacement midday.
Just have a lot of supplements at the moment cos it gets a bit boring chugging down the same stuff all the time.

lets see now...

pack of 4 chicken breasts say costs £5, plus like say an hour prep and cooking time for ALL of the chicken breasts together, so we'll say (seeing i'm a student so low paid anyway right now) i could earn £5 instead, so we'll call it £10, each 1 has 40g of protein so each chicken breast i eat in real terms cost me: £2.50

now lets compare to a protein supplement, such as ON 100% whey, costs like £30 say for a 5lb tub, out of that tub you get 30 x 40g servings (its a lot more i think, but we'll say 30 for arguments sake!), no cooking time and minimal prep time so per-serving in real terms each 40g serving costs roughly: £1.00

so the chicken is 2.5 times or 250% more expensive than the whey shake
i'm not sayin don't eat chicken i'm saying for those that are on tight budgets and don't have time to cook their money is better spent on a good whey supplement!

peace

just checked out that protein factory site

they sell elite whey for £27.99, 87 x 22g of protein servings

obviously we need to double that intake so its roughly 43.5 x 44g servings

27.99 / 43.5 = £64p per 44g protein serving!

now that is why economical bodybuilders use whey supplements

and whey is also optimal in the morning and post workout due to the fact that it is delivered a lot faster than whole food protein sources such a meat

drink up!

TBH, the only supp i use (apart form gear) is a maltodextrin powder and thats not often. and whey in the mornings and after the gym
