What's top dog nowadays?

I've been out of the game for a few months and im rearing to get back into it. However the world of supplements is ever changing so i was wondering whats top dog in the creatine and whey protein league at the moment? I used V12 and that stuff was awsome, i tryed a few different whey's and they were of but nothing special (infact i think that whey proteins pretty ****e!) but weight gainers are alright just so long as they give you a ****e load for £25!.

turbo has a spectacular aura aboutturbo has a spectacular aura about
different people like different stuff mate. Im giving tri-matrix a go atm and that seems good. v12 turbo is supposed to also be good.

whey wise, myprotien.co.uk seem very popular with their tailered mixes.

V12 Turbo has the same ingredients as the original V12 but in a larger quantity making it more potent.

Personally I don't reckon there's a huge difference between any major brand of whey, just find one that tastes the best Elite Whey from Dymatize in Butter Cream Toffee fflavour is *supposed* to taste fantastic although I haven't tried it myself yet.

The best new(ish) supp available in my opinion is the MRP from SAN called Infusion - Complex carbs, Whey Isolate + Casein + Colostrum + EFA's (Flaxseed + CLA). Also very high in fibre, contains Glutamine peptides and tastes superb.

Yes - I can vouch for that. Even in water it tastes AMAZING. Makes taking in protein an absolute pleasure. It's also among the cheapest if you shop around.

I mix it with oats blended for an MRP.

I also cook oats in water and then add Butter Cream Toffee Whey to it and stir. VERY easy and tasty low GI carbs with a protein source.

Yes - real food is better, but oats and whey is a pretty good choice IMO.

Thanks for the tip - I'll give that a try if it doesn't cost the earth. Presumably you mix it with water rather than milk? What are the complex carbs in it - maltodextrin or another source?

Yes just with water. Whilst not a cheap MRP it does contain a lot of extras. If you're normally taking a regular MRP plus supplementing with a multivit + Flax/CLA etc then an all-in-one formula can work out better value.

The 11g carbs per serving are from ground raw oats - hence the 6g fibre.

I agree totally that whole natural food is essential and should never be replaced if possible. However, the fact does remain that supplements can be extremely beneficial in meeting nutirional defecits and providing extra elements not normally consumed in a wholefood diet.

I do believe that a lot of supplements offer good value for money. For example, a serving of SAN Infusion for breakfast will set you back approx £2 - yet that is still significantly less than a regular Caffe Latte from Starbucks and is an infinately better way to start your day.

Yeah i'de go for all food but creatine generally does wonders for me, i think i'll give V12 turbo a go since V12 was the dogs. Far as whey protein goes i don't particually like it and don't think it helps alot but sometimes if i forget to make a meal or simply can't be ****d then its much easier to mix up a shake i get that down your throat. Tahnks for the responses anyway.
