Question Looking for supp give me a boost...

Hey everyone...

Pretty new to all this, getting serious with my training and will hopefully look into competing in figure in the future.

Although right now, im trying to get my head around all the info out there (definately half the battle, besides the diet & exercise!)

Okay, so im looking for something to help power my workouts, with perhaps some other benefits - was considering a fat burner (but after reading various articles on the web, im not entirely convinced they work - can anyone suggest any FB supps that have worked for them??)

Then thought about a creatine supp - although the down side with this is the water retention/bloating. Noticed theres a new supp by All American EFX - Kre-a-fem.. apparently claims to prevent bloating in women - anyone advise here??

Theres also caffeine supps.. considering this too...

Alittle lost here, maybe you guys could help out???

The manager at my gym regularly competes in natural BB comps but hes not back in till Mon - I dont think I can wait that long lol

Welcome

TBH powering workouts is about food over supplements.

Food = energy
Supps like 'fat burners' = stimulants

The two differ and the latter IMO should be avoided for a whole host of reasons

Post up a diet and how you fuel your training and people can plug gaps for you

Re: Looking for supp give me a boost...

Basically im eating 6 times a day, protein at every meal, was trying to keep complex carbs in the first 3 meals only then focus on fibrous in the others, fats with protein in final 2 meals. Have one day out of 4 where I eat more complex carbs through the day.

Think that b/c im eating fewer carbs, ive probably less energy to power workouts. The only thing is as im not working at the moment (student), so bumming around alot in the afternoons. I feel that if I have too many carbs throughout the day I wont burn them and theyll just be converted to fat (?)

Re: Looking for supp give me a boost...

The other thing is early morning cardio. Just cant seem to get going first thing in am without eating first - one cup of coffee just doesnt cut it.

So, right now im just settling with 15-45mins steady cardio after weights session.

Re: Looking for supp give me a boost...

I posted a thread on Lipo 6 on this site some time ago. Use the search to find it and have a read. Although many advise against them or think they do not work they worked for me. I agree that you need to get the diet and training right as well to get the best results, but they did give me a boost and continue to work for me.

Good luck with your ambitions, I am sure you will make it to the figure contests. I used to compete in figure in the early nineteen eighties, but this time I am going for the physique. Just love having muscle!

Thanks GG! Can agree with your comment - take one look at the cardio kit, and just want to turn around and keep working on building up the muscle!

Read up on Lipo-6, and seems to have had a good all-round review. The only (major) thing that troubles me is the ephedrine content - the compound has been banned in some if not all natural UK BB comps. Lipo-6x is apparently ephedrine-free, but with this having been removed I wonder whether there really is a compound which has as good a impact or result as ephedrine.

Talking with a trainer this a.m. he suggested a creatine compound - I mentioned NO-Explod, which he said was very effective but suggested that it should be taken maybe 1-2 a wk due to the impact it has on your mood (can become aggressive/irritable)

Any comments on the above would be really appreciated.....

Re: Looking for supp give me a boost...

Lipo 6 contains yohimbine which is effective but raises BP if taken oraly, long term stims can also cause adrenal burn out so after you lose the fat it goes back on much quicker.

As for the creatine LMAO at kre-a-fem, them yanks crack me up.

Extreme nutrition do a kre-alkalyn product I forget the name of it but its good, don't expect an energy boost but it will increase your strength.

...yeah, sort of fell for that one Lol - the company claimed that the drug prevents the boating (water retention??) that normally comes with taking creatine. Its 'sounds' plausible - whether it actually works is another matter....

Re: Looking for supp give me a boost...

Hi Belle,
Creatine, not sure for women, as you know already it can make you bloated and hold water, it also works you kidneys very hard,
Carly is right in what she says, anyway young lady, if your thinking of doing a figure contest, you need to have some curves on stage, you don't need to be shredded lol.
So try some herbal fat burners, try and stay away from the other ones.
But as I told Baby Yo Yo, if you want to see your body lose fat, cut your carbs and up your protein, you will find a level that will slower take that fat away.

Good luck,

R xx

So when you say to cut carbs, do you mean cycle them (as Im doing now; 1 day high, 3 days low), just keep them low, or cut them completely and just up the fats? What the P/C/F ratio be? I find when Ive reduced carbs, I find it quite difficult to lift as heavy as usual...
Any suggestions on a good FB?

Hx
