Supplements instead of fish

I'm having real problems eating fish of any kind, i just cannot keep it down. Instead i take 1 Omega 3 tablet each day but i know this isnt enough. Is there anything else that i can take to compensate for lack of fish? what about these below

Re: Supplements instead of fish

Seeing as he doesnt eat fish he'll need that many.

Everyone should eat oily fish.
- it tastes great
- its very healthy
- it makes you feel great! literally!, oily fish is invigorating to the mind from the omega 3.

Its win win.

If you look at the actual fat content of most fish you will find its very low for example salmon you would be lucky to get more than 5 grams of fat in one meal hmmm or if we dont like the flavour of fish we could save the money buy some chicken/steak/bean burger and have 5 grams of fish oil tablets.

Re: Supplements instead of fish

I've never liked any kind of fish since i was young but the other day i tried some of the John West tuna in a tin and it was as bad as i remember.

How many tablets should i be taking today of the omega 3 tablets? or are there better ones to take?

marc

All of your posts seem to be missing massive points

You are more likely to find john west in john west tuna than you are omega 3 oils

EPA/DHA oil is why people supplement fish in their diets in the mian. Oily fish

So fish oils it is, not cod liver oil but EPA/DHA oil, salmon oil or krill

google it

Agree to some extent although would say, everybody needs EPA/DHA

see my above

you need a total of 2.2g on average of DHA/EPA per day assuming your diet is not way over the otherside of the fayt spectrum (ie high in 6's and or damaged fats)

5g of fish oils is just short of that figure

I strongly believe people will benefit from mega dosing fish oils or medium dosing krill oil

krill is also a little easier on the digestive system for me yet a little harder on the wifes wallet, her shoes/handbags funds have taken a battering....sh1t happens

Maybe you could, even more likely to do so if you read the advice and links i and others have given in the past rather than being a petulant child and expecting to be spoon fed and having outbursts like the one above.

Well it depends on where you get it from, some fish oil contains more heavy metal than others.

The benefits of fish oil can be got on as little as 3-5gs a day for health, however for fat loss in the insulegenic area's (think love handles) a more significant amount is need 20-30g for a short period seems to be the sweet spot.

Udo's is another healthy fat that contains ALA which can be converted to EPA/DHA in the human body, this is done more easily by women than men.

6 plus on the first one to get 2-5g total EPA/DHA

Massive shout there

this could rage on so I shall step away now before posting the 6% efficiency studies

Re: Supplements instead of fish

Fish oils are a great addition to your diet, I cant say enough about these.
I take 12 a day, probably should be taking more for joint stiffness.
A few with each meal would be a good idea.

I knew there was an efficiency problem but I didnt know it was as low as 6%.
If you have that study, I would love to read it.
