Re: fat burners

lost soul am i right in saying that protein's purpose can not only be used to aid in muscle recovery/retention while dieting but also by burning calories? i think the numbers are; per 100cal of protein taken in the body burns 22cals to digest and with fat and carbs its only between 6-15cals per 100g repsectively.

Re: fat burners

The TEF of protein is around 20%, carbs about 3 and fat about 5-6 from memory

protein will not burn fat
calories determine that
protein has a higher satiety
protein is a poor substitute for carbs when it comes to making energy

Re: fat burners

I'm very sceptical about fat "burners" in general. I believe that if they really worked the big pharma companies would have pushed them long ago. The old adage, "diet and exercise" along holds true to get rid of fat I'm afraid.
