What supps do I need?

Hi everyone,

Looking for some advice here. I'm back training hard again after some injury time off, I've lost a little mass and little off my best lifts and want to speed up my process of gaining both lean muscle and especially good definition.

In the past the only real supps I have taken are creatine and fish oils, but I want to take a more varied mix. I've never been greatly clued up on supps other than the basics, quite a lot of mates are taking M-stacks? and vasculators and getting good results, so i thought i might as well give it a try.

So if any of you would reccomend some decent supps to complement my diet that would great!

cheers guys, i really appreciate the helpful posts on uk-m!

Re: What supps do I need?

Nothing is required, stay where you were with fish oils. All supplements offer very minor gains for cost ratios

Re: What supps do I need?

cheers for the reply. i agree with what you say about the cost, but how comes so many people use supps if they offer very little gains?

cheers

Re: What supps do I need?

Marketing.

Magazines and the former barbell compaines (like hofman, york, wielder) realised that training equipment lasts for years and years decades in the case of a barbell.

However a protein shake ect needs to be purchaced every month, thats income every month instead of a one off purchace for a barbell, book ect..

You notice if you look at the early bodybuilding/physical culture magazines from the 30s,40s that there advertiseing is completely difrent the focus is on sales of training equipment, pornographic homo erotic picture books, training programs and general intrest books.

However somthing happened during the 50s, the marketing guys realised like I said earlyer that they were missing a trick, vitamins, proteins, minerals, muscle bread needs to be purchaced on a weekly/monthy basis. Thats a constant income stream.

So before the magazines based there articles on the premise of sucess if you followed the programs that your bought from hofman, bought the barbell, chest expander and iorn boots. With time and good nutrition (or how they understood it then) and a healthy lifestyle you would suceed in your goals.

However the subtle change from the 50s onwards is that the articles, advertisments were designed from a dependance premise you needed suplements to suceed in the programs, otherwise progress would be sub-optimal. It opened the doorway in many ways for steriods to become more accepted. (suplements are a gateway product for anabolic steroids - its the same premise, takeing somthing extra will make you suceed). You see once you accept that takeing a "suplement" will help you acheve your goals its not so much a leap to think that takeing steroids will help you acheve your goals.

Is that reality?

No its not

What is fat are the in vivo trials done to show minimal benefits of tried and trusted supplements such as CM and that will yield minimal results

Some enjoy quirky supplements for existing issues they have but the notion of needing anything is incorrect and the benefits of supplements is limited at best, sceptical in most other cases

CM 'works'
caffeine 'works'

beyond that everything you need before steroids in found in the ground, the field, the tree or the see
