BCAA & L-Glutamine

Just brought some of each in powder form from Myprotein.

I was thinking 10g L-glutamine and 5g bcaa in my pwo shake also thinking 5g of each in my breakfast shake? do these figures sound about right for my daily intake of both?

Many thanks..

Re: BCAA & L-Glutamine

I don't use glutamine but use BCAA.

I take 5g of it in between meals to help pro-long protein synthesis and take it during and after workouts. Around 10g during and 10-15 afterwards.

Re: BCAA & L-Glutamine

BCAAs tastes fukin horrible in powder form and doesn't mix well.

I would down it with some grape juice/cordial etc and keep the glutamine in breakfast and PWO/evening shake.

No need to go overboard with either, 10g a day of each will suffice.

Jock - for your own info, and so as not to confuse the OP, theres some interesting info on BCAAs on IronAddicts forum...

Scivation Xtend;)

Agree'd, no need to go over-board but 10g in one sitting for the whole day wouldnt be optimum....IMO

two servings of 5g would be enough IMO.

There are loads of BCAAs in Whey anyway, presuming you take 2+ servings IMO that would be enough.

TH&S cheers for that I will have a look, I bought some of this stuff a few weeks ago and I'm looking into ways of taking it.

From memory the guys on there were taking upto 80g BCAAs ED, and had massively dropped their dietary protein and used little to no protein powder and were seeing great gains.

Sounds expensive!

I like the idea of eating less protein, but 80g of Bcaa's per day! that would cost a fortune!

I have used before with reasonable gains.

Maybe whey is marketed a little easier as this stuff is disgusting lol
