I was wondering what peoples views are on this. I have just started using WMS and i also bought some cornflour from Morrisons, they both look exactly the same, mix exactly the same, and taste exactly the same! WMS is about £6-7 per kilo where as Cornflour is less than £2 per kilo. Are the supplement companies buying cornflour and selling it as WMS? Are they both the same thing?

Cornstarch, the white, powdered starch of the maize grain; in UK usage, cornflour normally has this particular meaning.

This tells me its from the same grain. Can anyone confirm or correct this?

Contents of WMS per 100g:

Carbohydrates 85g
Of which starch 85g
Of which sugar 0g
Protein 0.4g
Fat 0.1g
Fibre Trace
Energy 350kal

Contents of Cornflour per 100g:

Carbohydrates 83.6g
Of which sugars Trace
Protein 0.6g
Fat 0.7g
Fibre 0.1g
Energy 343kal

Very simular the only thing that isn't mentioned on the Cornflour packet is 'Of which starch', but that doesn't mean to say it is or it isn't. The term cornflour is starch of the maize grain so i would suggest that it is. I am not saying that we are being ripped off just making an observation that they seem to be the same thing. I know there was some talk on another thread about people switching to cornflour, has anyone got any results on this?

Cornflour has been tested by one of the guys on the board and it is exactly the same as WMS no difference in values or results when taken PWO.............look out the lawyers are coming

is there a difference with Corn flour and corn starch? and is this stuff better than say, Glucose?

Vitargo p*sses all over those two.

Just my opinion but I get much better results with Vitargo.

LOL I dont measure results by numbers more how I get on with a product and how I recover using it etc.

In this respect Vitargo beats WMS IMO. Only IMO though, other people may vary. I just get on better with it.

Oh BTW my gear use doesnt really change off season I use pretty much the same stuff.

good thread, have started using cornflour with my whey pwo instead of spending 2quid a time in the gym on a pro recover... i know im a cheap skate.lol

If you can find out the amylopectin content of the CF & WMS than that will be the point when we know whether they are identical or how similar!

results speaks volumes when it comes to if one product is better than another, on the breakdown there is nothing between the 2, on the tests that where carried out they came back the same and from the results i and other experianced guys have had tells me WMS is no better than CF
