i think it would depend on your whole diet but IMO go for 50g whey 50g dextrose.

Thats what i did when dieting last year!

Re: best post wk out shake for loosing bf

what are you taking at the moment mate???

im guessing about 100g WMS and 60g whey isolate would be a good start.... WMS (or corn starch :rolleye11 i'll say no more!!) is a complex carb that uptakes alot faster than dextrose... so i suppose wont cause an insulin spike...

feel free to correct me anyone if im mistaken

hope this helps mate!

A good whey protein in water would do the trick to be honest.

If you're dieting and trying to lean out - this may surprise you but you may require 40-60grams. Dieting requires a substantial drop in overall carbohydrate consumption. As carbohydrates remain low, the body risks burning its own muscle tissue for fuel, so a higher protein intake, especially after training, protects against protein breakdown.

This compared to if your gaining mass, you'd need around 30-45grams as well as a higher Carbohydrate intake to stimulate insulin. When taking carbs after a workout you need less protein.

Well, you are insulin sensitive anyway following a workout.

I think you are looking at it from the wrong angle to be honest...

What are the rest of your meals like? What type of diet are you on...?

Are you on Slin...? Are you on AAS...?

If you are carb restricted then have Whey Isolate in Water.

If not then structure your PWO as a normal meal - just get your macros from WPC and Oats with some milk maybe.

Although ChefX would perhaps say no fibre PWO, so substitute another carb source for the oats...

I personally would go for a low carb shake if I was looking to lose bf.

I think just a fast absorption whey protein with water would be fine,,, Low sugars and low carbs...
Keep it simple IMO

Re: best post wk out shake for loosing bf

I wouldn't avoid carbs PWO even when dieting it is one of the few times you can take the carbs in without fear of putting down fat.

Personally if I was dieting I would split approx 50% of my daily allowance of carbs between the PWO shake and the meal immediately afterwards. The remainder of the carbs I would take in at breakfast and Pre-workout. I see no halm in the simple sugars in the PWO shake they wont be turned to fat.

So for example if it was a 200g carb day it would be 50g at breakfast, 50g Pre-workout, 50g in the PWO shake and the last 50g in the PWO meal. These meals are protein/carb based.

It depends what time your train though if you were sitting down for that last carb meal at 9pm that would be to late IMO, in this case I would go 1/3 at breakfast 1/3 pre-workout and 1/3 in the PWO shake.

The remainder of the meals would be fat/protein based.
