Question Dried Skimmed milk?

Hi guys

Just bought some dried skimmed milk powder 340g from kwik save for 1.45 it contains 6 servings when mixed with water one serving contains.
  • Energy 865kj/204cal
  • Proten 20.0g
  • Carbohydrate 29.6g
  • Fat 0.6g
  • Sodium 0.3g
  • Vitamin A & D
I was thinking of this as a cheap way to increase the proten intake maybe add some milkshake crusha or something similar for flavour.

My question is what do you recon is it a good idea and how does it compare to proten shakes?

Real food over any powder. Sorry but you did ask. Eat protein in this order.
Fish, turkey, chicken, beef, pork. Eggs always.........................
Keeps the blood sugar more even and stable.

Ultrasonic will become famous soon enough
Am I missing something; why not just drink a pint of skimmed milk? It's basically the same in terms of the nutritional data you posted, and will be about the same price.

that's what i was thinking!
you could perhaps add the powder to normal milk, though personally i wouldn't bother.
just eat an egg!

Yeah, you may as well drink milk mate. When you take a protein powder you cut out all those sugars. Plus the protein is of better quality.

Having said that, at times in the past when I was short of cash I used to blend raw eggs with skimmed milk powder and a touch of nesquick - although I dont recommend it for reasons of both health and taste!

Totally understand dude, that powder you mention will be very slightly cheaper than milk I guess. If you just want cheap protein, then tinned tuna probably works out better value I expect.

What is the cheapest source of protein guys?

Yeah - tinned tuna is great for cheap protein. Eggs are pretty cheap too.

Raw eggs are touch and go. I never had any problems at all from drinking them, but i do know of people who had salmonella poisoning from doing the same thing - which obviously was neither good nor condusive to bodybuilding progress!
