![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Perfect Protein Shakes any good? Hey fellas I need your opinion on a supplement I've just started using. My gym stocks 500ml bottles of 'Perfect Protein Shake' (see below) and I've been using them after I workout. I must stress I have only been using them out of pure convenience. Because I am now working full time and I now lift in the mornings I don't have enough time to make-up my usual post-workout shake. They taste pretty good and go down quite well. Here is the nutritional breakdown: 505kcals 50g Protein 76g Carbs (maltodextrin) 0.15g Fat I has milk in it which I'm sure slows down protein absorption a bit but I wanted to know if they are any use and if they are respected or not in the supplement world. Cheers, Jock ![]()

It was either silentbob, jimmy or OSC, I cant remember which.

![]() ![]() ![]() | aye, ive seen those before. no good IMO. Before you leave to go to work, put a few scoops of whey in a bag, seal it and put it in your shaker. Finish workout, put water in shaker, add powder, shake, and hey presto! Takes 5 mins!

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, it was me who said about the quality of those. You may as well drink a slimfast in all honesty. Premixed shakes have to undergo various processes including heat treatment to be allowed for sale - this reduces the value of the protein. Basically the end product is just milk, only a lot more expensive obviously. If you check out the carb to protein ratio it is the same as skimmed milk too.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Pro MR is always a solid choice. Muscle fuel by USN is a bit more economical but higher in carbs. Prolab lean matrix is supposed to be really good, but its a bit more expensive. Ny-Tro Pro-40 by AST is good and I'm a fan of the labrada mrps - mainly cos they do a tropical variety box which makes a nice change from the usual choc/strw/vanilla.
