Maximuscle - is it gd for 'kids'?

I was thinking of getting some Maximuscle, is it a good suplement for a 14 year old, if I'm fat, which of the Maximuscle products should I pick?

hi mate,
if you are a bit overweight the last thing you want is to be supplementing with anything.

supplementing is another way of saying adding to... you want to create a calorie shortfall which means taking away.

create a calorie deficit through eating small and often and increase your energy expenditure (aka exercise)

post up the training you do and your diet so you can get some pointers, supplements arnt magic pills(we may want them to be, but they aint) they can just aid in your goals. For your age id say just stick to working out on light weights for high reps to burn off some fat, then when you start to slim up a little maybe when your 15/16 then start thinking of supplements, btw maximuscle are good prodects but really overpriced, myprotein.co.uk have much better deals.

I think maximuscle do a diet shake called promax diet with caffine and green tea etc. Maybe you could have one of those when you feel hungry instead of high carb and fat food.

Why are you called disturbed? Are you disturbed? lol

if you are looking to loose weight then its fairly simple. Burn more calories than you consume. Dont waste your money on supplements...its really too expensive for someone your age. Here are some tips to help you get into shape:

1) eat 6 small meals a day to speed up your metabolism
2) eat low fat, low sugar foods (e.g use wholemeal bread instead of white etc)..allow yourself a treat now and again to keep motivated.
3) increase your cardio vascular work -
4) excercise at 70% of your maximum heart rate. ive worked this out for you... for someone your age, who isnt that fit then you want to aim for between 103 and 124 beats per min.

Dont go crazy...remember to eat!!!...dont go getting anorexic! Little steps at a time and gradualy yourll achieve your results.
Good Luck

and as John says dont invest in supplements your... they cost a lot of money and wont help you achieve your goal of loosing unwanted body fat... unless you substitute sups for some meals which is really expensive and will lead to a very unbalanced and unhealthy diet!...stay clear of them untill your goals change.

I was thinking of eating about 750-1000 calories a day in 3 meals, and running (on a treadmill) for 20 mins in the morning and 20 mins in the afternoon at 6.5m/h rate. What do u think of that?

(I weight 95kgs and I'm about 182cm in height, my bodyfat is about 27% and my bmi is 28.7 [i'm not sure about the last 2])

How many calories a day would it take for you to stay exactly the same weight?

Take that figure and drop 500-750 cals off it to create a dietery calorie deficit.
Then split that roughly into 6 meals so your eating 6 small meals a day.

You'd probably be better do morning cardio on an empty stomach for 40 mins rather than the 2 sessions.
If you feel like doing it again at night fair enough but 40 mins to 1 hours will get better results.
And that energy expenditure will create the sencond part of your calorie deficit WITHOUT slowing your metabolism down to a crawl as you would with 750 cals!!! your not exactly small at nearly 6 foot and 15 stone you need way more than 750 cals mate.

Do as I suggest and feed back after a few weeks - make your meals generally high protein moderate carb and low fat.
EG...
lean meat, mix veg, sweet potatoes for evening meals
or jacket and macrel / chicken salad for lunch meals
or porridge oats / oat cakes for breaky
etc ... that sort of thing.

The lower your energy expenditure is going to be the lower the crab ratio of the meal just before should be but don't drop carbs out altogether even at supper time.

You would also do better incorperating a weights/resistance exercise scheme 3 times a week to promot lean tissue preservation and body composition change.

Take it easy, your only young... just tighten up a little and don't take this too seriously.
